Overall Career

Vernon Louis "Lefty" Gomez (November 26, 1908 - February 17, 1989) was one of the all-time great pitchers with humor and wit almost as fast as his fastball. Lefty won 20 games 4 times in his years with the New York Yankees and helped his team win 7 American League Pennants and 6 World Series titles. He won the pitching triple crown twice and set a World Series record by winning 6 games without a loss.
