Lou Gorman

James G. "Lou" Gorman was born in South Providence, Rhode Island and grew up a Red Sox fan. He began his baseball career in 1961 with the San Francisco Giants, and worked in management and player development capacities for the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, and Boston Red Sox.
Lou Gorman was General Manager of the expansion Seattle Mariners from 1977 to 1980, and then moved on to the GM position with the Boston Red Sox from 1984 to 1993. After being replaced by Dan Duquette in 1994, he continued with the Red Sox front office as an executive consultant for public affairs with an emphasis on community projects. He also is the coordinator of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame, to which he was inducted in 2002.
