Michael Warren "Mike" Maroth (born August 17, 1977 in Orlando, Florida) was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1998 and traded the Detroit Tigers on July 31, 1999 in exchange for Bryce Florie. He pitched parts of 6 seasons for the Tigers from 2002-2007 before a trade sent him to the St. Louis Cardinals on June 22, 2007.

- In 2003, Mike Maroth became the first pitcher to lose 20 games in a season since Brian Kingman went 8-20 with the Oakland A's in 1980. He finished the year 9-21 with a 5.73 ERA. His team fared little better in the record department, as the Tigers finished 43-119, nearly supplanting the 1962 New York Mets record for most losses in a season (40-120).
