Scouting Report
- Venezuelan catcher was Boston's biggest bonus baby of the 2008 early international signing period, receiving a reported bonus of $750K. Very advanced defensively for his age. Raw power potential. While some Venezuelan scouts tabbed him as a "back-up catcher at the big league level at best", Boston deemed him "in the upper-echelon of the catchers who signed" in 2008. Perez will play at the Dominican Academy in 2008, and will get every shot to make the GCL team in 2009. Obviously very raw, as a 16 year-old international signee. ~ SoxProspects.com
