Peter Brian Walker was born April 8, 1969 in Beverly, Massachussetts. He is most well known as a former relief pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Overall Career

Pete Walker attended the University of Connecticut from 1988-1990 where he helped the Huskies capture the Big East Championship in 1990 and led them to a berth in the NCAA tournament. He was drafted in the 7th round of the 1990 draft by the New York Mets Walker made his major league debut on June 7, 1995 against the San Francisco Giants and appeared in 13 games that year compilling at 4.58 ERA. On March 17, 1996 he was traded along with Scott Adair to the San Diego Padres for Roberto Petagine and Luis Arroyo. He appeared in one game for the Padres in 1996 and was granted free agency in 1996 of that year.

On June 30, 1997 Walker signed with the Boston Red Sox and spent that season in the minors splitting his time between the GCL Red Sox the Trenton Thunder and the Pawtucket Red Sox. In seven games with the Paw Sox he posted a 5.40 ERA. He was granted free agency on October, 17, 1997 but was re-signed by the Sox on January 14, 1998. Walker spent the entire season in Pawtucket and had a 5.94 ERA in 22 games. The Red Sox released him after the 1998 season.

Walker played with the Colorado Rockies and later the NY Mets from 1999 to 2001. In 2002, he was selected off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays after playing in one game for the Mets. Walker played in the Big Leagues for the Blue Jays in the 2003, 2005 and 2006 seasons but was an average major league reliever at best. After season ending shoulder surgery in 2006, Walker was signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training in 2007. After the Blue Jays released him after spring training, his contract was purchased by the New York Yankees. In 2007, a 38 year old Walker appeared in 4 games for the GCL Yankees.

Currently, Walker is the Co-Manager and Director of Pitching Instruction at “America’s Game” a baseball instruction clinic/company in Old Lyme, Connecticut
