Overall Career
Rick Asadoorian (born July 23, 1980 in Worcester, MA), drafted in the first round of the 1999 Amateur Draft out of Northbridge High School, in Massachusetts. Asadoorian originally projected as a corner outfielder due to his strong arm. However, it was soon clear he did not have the bat to do so. He was traded in 2001, along with Dustin Brisson and Luis Garcia for Dustin Hermanson.
He is now in AA for the Cincinnati Reds where he is teammates with former Red Sox 2000 1st Round pick Phil Dumatrait. His career-highs in the minors are .288 BA (2004) and 10 HR (2003) and 22 SB (2000). Although statistics show him as having pitched for Chattanooga, he claims it was a clerical error.
Asadoorian never forgot his New England roots, and booked a flight home to Boston to witness the 2004 World Series parade.
