Overall Career
Harry Warren "Rip" Collins was born on February 26, 1896, in Weatherford, Texas. Collins was 24 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 19, 1920, with the New York Yankees. Collins had an 11-year career as a right handed pitcher. He finished with a record of 108-82, 569 Ks and a 3.99 ERA in 1,712.1 innings.
He was sometimes wild, leading the AL in walks (103) and wild pitches (7) in 1922.

- December 20, 1921: Traded by the New York Yankees with Roger Peckinpaugh, Bill Piercy, and Jack Quinn to the Boston Red Sox for Everett Scott, Joe Bush, and Sam Jones.
- October 30, 1922: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with Del Pratt to the Detroit Tigers for Carl Holling, Howard Ehmke, Danny Clark, Babe Herman, and $25,000.
