- Kester can throw a variety of pitches with control, including a sinking fastball, cut fastball, curveball, slider and change-up. Pitched six seasons in Houston org. from 93-99, and in Taiwan from 99-2001. He tried out for the Padres in 2001 but was cut, and later went on to play in Italy. In 2002 Kester played for an independent team in Pennsylvania.
