Pro Career

  • Showed some pop in Rookie-league Johnson City in 2004, but struggled at short-season A ball.
  • Rebounded in 2005 where he showed good plate discipline for the GCL Red Sox and was promoted to Greenville where he was impressive as well. In 234 AB he hit .291 with a .385 OBP and .427 SLG.
  • Played for Greenville again in 2006, and put together a nice season, hitting .283 with a .360 OBP and .455 SLG.
  • Promoted to High-A Lancaster for start of 2007 season and put up very impressive numbers. Hit .326 with a .411 OBP and .492 SLG in 445 AB before earning a promotion to AA Portland.

Scouting Report

  • Granadillo can play both second base and third base adequately. Despite Internet reports to the contrary, he does not play shortstop. Excellent plate discipline and above average power for a middle infielder. Hits lefties at a slightly better clip. Seems to have really taken to Boston's hitting philosophies, as he has improved his game every season with the organization. ~Soxprospects.com
