Snod wrote an article for .com about WAR and why we should be careful when using it to compare players over certain sample sizes and in some contexts.

Its popularity has reached the point that mainstream media outlets are using it along with conventional measures like batting average, on-base percentage and earned run average. WAR has been marketed incredibly well and it’s wonderful that fans in general are branching out beyond the traditional numbers that have long defined the baseball watching experience. However, it can be, and often is, terribly misused.

This was an excellent article. Props to snod.

Incredibly well done and great tone. WAR discussions can get very aloof and this piece was the furthest thing from that.
