If I'm managing against Lester, and the bottom of my lineup is at the plate, every fucking guy is trying to lay a bunt down between the mound and the third base line.

Some people seem shocked by the Lester throwing thing, but it's been going on for a few years now and he has done just fine. Other teams don't steal that many bases on him and teams don't bunt a lot on him either.

The thing about everyone bunting against him is that bunting is weird--if you spend two innings trying to bunt him into fucking something up, and they all end up as plays Bryant/ Rizzo/ Ross can make, you've wasted a ton of outs on that when you maybe could have just beaten him--he's great, but he's not Randy Johnson. You can understand given the choice teams wanting to just try and beat him straight up.

So yeah. I like this idea.

Why not use one of your other bullpen guys here? Only bring in Chapman once the tying run gets to the on deck circle. You just watched a tired Miller give up three. No reason it can't happen to Chapman.

I'm telling you, I have a bad, bad feeling about Chapman tonight. If I'm a Cub fan, I'm praying for a big rally in the top of the 9th to pad the lead (if there is still a lead).

Don't see Cleveland picking themselves up off the mat suddenly. Great, great series where Joe Maddon was really the only thing that swayed me (away, it's going to be awful listening to games he's involved in after he's won). Indians magic just didn't last long enough. Some bad defense and normal pitching performances was enough for the Cubs to wake up.

Tough to not think of the Sox doing this; muscling their way through the slump, winning just enough until everyone gets going.

Napoli, you should have been called out two pitches before. Don't complain.
