Reporter: So is it possible for the bulge to collapse, and then not be collapsed?

Reporter: Bradley's been listed on the injury report every week as "questionable, infantry" since the beginning of the war, why is that?

BB: Look, I don't set the rules. You'll have to talk to the League of Nations about that.
I believe you mean "the geniuses at the League of Nations..."

People say it was inevitable, but they don't know what the hell they're talking about. Everyone knows about Rommel, of course, but Heinz Guderian was in many ways the father of the whole thing, a brilliant mind. Don Coryell. And they had depth up and down the roster. Michael Wittmann was like Lawrence fucking Taylor -- you never knew where he was coming from, and by the time you saw him, you were dead. Kurt Knispel -- he had more than 150 kills, which is like 200 sacks, Bruce Smith territory. Otto Carius, just a pros' pro. It's a darn good thing we had Patton and guys like Creightom Abrams -- and Zhukov playing left end, and depth of our own, or we really would have been up against it. Might have lost the whole thing. Monty ...? Yeah, he was pretty good, but Jesus act like you've been there before. Just do your job.

The best part of this thread is that in my head I can hear Belichick saying the words I'm reading. It's fantastic.

Right Here
D-Day:
"We started off strong trying to rush the beach wave after wave. The German's defense executed well so we had a lot of yardage but nothing to show for kills. It wasn't until we were able to penetrate deep into their territory that we started to see some results."

Battle of the Bulge:
"We obviously had a late lead and got caught off-guard. We weren't prepared and that's on me and my staff. We were fortunate to get the Third Army in position late which allowed us to secure the win. There's, you know, obviously a lot of work that we need to do."

<inaudible question>
"Yes. I've been told about the Massacre at Malmady. I didn't see it myself as I'm not up on InstaRadio or Telecinema so I'm hearing about it secondhand. It is what it is. We all have the same rulebook and we're going to follow it and let the Geneva Convention sort it out with everyone else,"

Off topic a bit but I was wondering if anyone had access to the all-22 from Hurtgen Forest? I can't tell if the Germans were in an odd front and two-gapping from the Tony Vaccaro stills. Thanks.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Phoenix, we shall fight in Houston, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, with Thomas, we shall fight on the ground with Legarette and James and Lewis, we shall run in the hills of Foxborough, we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, we are absolutely dead in the regulation, we shall win in overtime.

That entire thing sounded like the audio equivalent of a hostage video. He said "D-Day" like the guy at the start of Smoke Two Joints says "...Reefers."

I expect I will enjoy the hell out of the full documentary.

He sounds uncomfortable reading from a script. It reminds me of times when players get all emotional with him and he freezes up, like Harrison and Edelman.

God that was terrible. Or at least it was terrible up to " . . . . I became interested in at an early age." Because then I had to stop listening. It sounded like something he was reading for the very first time.

High comedic potential for doing audio books of Penthouse Forum letters.

Dear Penthouse, I have never written a letter like this before. When her female roommate showed up and presented a Tampa Two with strongside help, I realized it was what it was.

I don't think it was too bad. Maybe a little less emotion when narrating war documentaries isn't a bad thing.

Joe Dokes- the Penthouse Forum thing would be epic.

"So Dante's been working hard with our Maginot Line and we're going to have to be aware of Fritz doing an end around. He's fast, he's mobile and he'll blitz all day. We've got our work cut out for us."

It wasn't the lack of emotion -- I agree with you on that. He sounded like he was literally reading. He's not an actor, I get that. But they might as well have had a map app saying "turn left at Omaha beach."

Sorry bill.

Some people, even really charismatic people, just lack the skill of reading words off a page using their natural speaking voice. Can't be explained but it can be handled better. Something like "I learned a lot from my father and the Navy about football" doesn't need to be scripted down to the word. Just tell him the basic gist of the line, let him have a round of takes on it, and use the best one. Save the "read what's on the page and only what's on the page" for the dry stuff that's dry anyways.

It did get a little better after that, but yes a rough start for sure.

where I was last at
The US forces played well in all three phases of the invasion: sea, ground, air. We had to make some adjustments, got our ground game working, and finally made a few more good plays than they did.

Sounds like they also cut up some of his narration which only makes it worse.

God Love ya Bill, but the writers have to up their game to make it work.

The really funny part is that I'd bet that BB would enjoy some of the high quality parody work in this thread... I wonder if he'd ever see it.

Do you guys really think he is not aware of social media? I expect the "snapface" comment was a way for him to never have to enter in the rabbit hole.
