If any part of the body that he can score with is ahead of the ball, he's offside.
Thanks. Certainly looked like he was offsides then, though I can't imagine you'll ever get that call in that situation, unless soccer adopts instant replay -- you just can't see that clearly in real time from 30 yards away.

Everton looking disjointed and clumsy. Stoke troubling them with an aggressive press - no way they can sustain it for 90 but maybe they can squeeze the first goal out of it. Yank Geoff Cameron with a couple of dangerous through-balls.

When is Bolasie expected back?

Chelsea already down to 10 men after 14 minutes against Burnley.

And they just made a sub in the 18th minute.

And a Burnley goal waved off for offside.

This sums up the match nicely. So sick of the mindless defensive lapses, so sick of dropping points to bottom table teams. Such a crap way to start the season.
On twitter, if you start to type in Liverpool, the first option I get is "Liverpool defense" even before just "Liverpool".

EDIT: If you look at the word Liverpool too long it looks really weird.

And now 2-0 Huddersfield.
Supposedly they are very well organized and disciplined. A good thing in a league where the world's most expensive players seem to not bother with defending set pieces, if this thread is any indication

Rooney just skied a free kick 30' over goal.

Rooney drifting further back for the ball. No flow or linkup in Everton attack at all.

Announcers just mentioned Calvert-Lewin at 32' and I hadn't realized he was even playing.

Klassen also invisible.

Only players raising an eyebrow are Pickford, and Gueye for clearances and tackles.

ROOOOOOOONEY!

In stoppage time: Everton put together a beautiful series of passes - Sandro to DCL wide who floats a cross to Rooney in the middle of the box and he buries a sweet header.

That's it!

This first half from Palace has done nothing to overcome my skepticism about the 3-4-3, as they are booed off the field. Huddersfield deserve the lead for sure.

You think today's match is going to be remembered as a fluke?
They're not going to get killed at home every week by relegation candidates, obviously. Just seems like their offseason business has been pretty sour, and the mood is pissy - I don't get the warm fuzzies.

Edit: I didn't see MMS's post first, honest.

Shearer, on the BBC a couple of days ago, briefly mentioned that there was bad blood at Chelsea, but he never elaborated. Assuming it's recruitment related, has there been any specific players mentioned?

I didn't pay close attention, but with Costa wanting out, and Conte complaining about this and that everytime I came across a mention, it seemed not like the happiest place.

Conte is fighting two curses.

Plight of the FA Cup loser
2016: Alan Pardew sacked (Crystal Palace)
2015: Tim Sherwood sacked, Villa relegated (Aston Villa)
2014: Hull City relegated

Plight of PL winner
2016: Ranieri sacked
2015: Jose sacked
2014: Pelegrini gone within 2 years

Three curses:

2014: Conte is an asshole
2013<: Conte is an asshole

One of the very few bright spots in this game is Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Could it be third time's the charm with Chelsea loans?

Everton brighter now. Rooney showing his wisdom with a couple of very nice passes. Calvert-Lewin starting to assert himself.

The camera lingers on David Luiz, then cuts to Conte, and lingers on him for a good five seconds. I don't mind more homo eroticism in the game, it's 2017 for fuck sake.

Rooney is playing in a deeper-lying role and thriving there - making very dangerous passes. DCL now getting forward. Looking much more dangerous.

Keane gets his nose bloodied.

Cuco Martina, on for Williams, fucking up all over the place. Toffees desperately need reinforcements at the back until Coleman gets back and even then.
