Uhhhh.... 2 posts and nobody has mentioned Tom Brady yet?

I'll go with that, along with everyone who touched the field on Special Teams.

Box score is pretty interesting. Brady with a good 7.8 yards per attempt but nothing overwhelming. 266 yards passing. Osweiller 221. Time of possession even. No sacks. Broncos 8-15 in third down conversions. Pats 4-11. Broncos outran the Patriots.

It was the little things. Pats nailed every single attention to detail point all night long.

ST
Burkhead
Brady
OL
Lewis
No major injuries
Honorable mentions to Bennett, who looked far better than I expected, and Allen for his first catch and TD

The Pats look like they're pretty much where they wanna be at this stage of the season

Is it a coincidence, btw, that Allen finally had a good game on the day he moved to third on the depth chart, i.e. different assignments and responsibilities and such?

Allen got a lot of congrats from folks on the sideline after his TD. It seems like he is well-liked.

It helps when you get 2 short fields with the punt block and the muff... not to mention the KO TD and the 12 men penalty on 4th down. That's a kind of game that gets the Broncos ST coach fired... heh.

Bow, NH
Coaches: McD, and Joe Judge
Offense: GOAT, and the entire O Line
Defense: Linebackers (yes, I said it, they had a great game overall)
ST: ALL OF THEM

Lots of good to speak of last night, but all five of my game balls go to the OLine. Brady barely requires his shirt laundered this morning, and his dancing shoes were not worn out either.

Just a total ass-kicking by the Patriots. The stats don't tell the story, really, when you look at the overall numbers, which made it appear closer than it really was.

Brady was tremendous. The OL was incredible. Lewis was dynamic. Burkhead had a great game. Ghost and Allen were fantastic. I thought Develin was a beast tonight (though that's not unusual).

Not sure he really did have different responsibilities or really even move down the depth chart for this game. He outsnapped Bennett 20-7 and played slightly more as a % of snaps than in recent weeks.

Forcing Von Miller into coverage on the Patriot's "blocking" TE on Allen's touchdown was a nice bit of scheme. In fact, the overall scheme getting mismatches in the middle of the field with our TEs and RBs versus their LBs and Safeties was a fantastic game plan. Denver looked utterly confused on D for a majority of the game. Not a great night for Vance Joseph's bunch. I wouldn't be too confident in this coaching crew if I were a Denver fan.

Big FU to #31 Simmons. Take a deep breath after surviving a game against this cheap shot artist. Who needs TJ Ward?

McDaniels deserves some credit. I'm not really a game plan observer, but the first half's "oh, so you have good cornerbacks? Well, we just won't use our wide receivers" approach was pretty impressive.

And when was the last time a team had 4TEs contribute in a game (counting Hollister's fumble recovery.)

Bingo. Loss of Wade Phillips was very underrated.

Also, for everyone who wanted Joe Judge fired at some point since 2015... no.

Honestly last night wasn't all that much different than the last couple games (namely Atlanta and San Diego). The Pats offense ran the ball ok, didn't punt often, and had some red zone issues. The only real difference was that special teams set them up for a direct 14 points last night. Ghost missed 2 FGs against San Diego, that could have been 27-13 or whatever. Atlanta final score was 23-7 but Pats ate the ball on the last drive of that game, and never punted after their second drive of that game.

Coaching---the offensive 'inside out' plan to focus on RB/TE rather than WR was perfect for the situation, the special teams were clearly prepped and ready to play, and the defense (aided by the early lead) stayed within itself and didn't give up big plays. All in all, just how it was drawn up on the chalkboard wtih a few more freebies than planned. The difference in coaching/preparation/attention to detail in this game was quite stark.

The whole offensive line, and as an extension, Develin limited our QB to one sack against a team with the world's best pass rusher and a pair of lockdown cb's.
Great use of Develin moving around--helping Solder and Waddle with doubleteam chips on the ends, lead blocking for Burkhead and Lewis who both had great success hitting holes including a fourth and inches, splitting out to help diagnose coverage as he often does and even catching a pass. That is getting the most out of a fullback.

I definitely give a ball to Josh. Every game, it seems like he gets out of his play calling rhythm and calls plays that just seem to have no chance to succeed. Last night, I only remember one of those. It was the 3rd and 2 (right before Denvers too many men penalty on the punt). The Broncos had jldamn near everyone within 5 yards of the LOS. Brady faked a jet sweep to Cooks and threw a lateral to Dorsett. I thought it was the only headscrather of a play. Great game for the OC

On that sack, Brady motioned White from outside to inside for extra protection but White totally whiffed on the block. You could see how angry he was at himself afterward.
