The Post I replied to noted that Brady missing practice was not a big deal. And while that’s true, it’s also true that it would be better if he was in there working with the offense.

This is really a side point. The main point is that I’m incredibly freaking freaked.

I said that in the context of him hurting his hand and not doing anything to exacerbate it.

I think it goes without saying him practicing would be better.

What did you expect them to lead with ... JD Martinez signing with the Yankees?
I was commenting on the remarks that it wasn't a lead story on ESPN. They actually led the promo with Lebron but switched. As did I. Caught the beginning after PTI.

The only thing wrong with Brady's hand is that he only has five digits to fit six rings upon. He will play, and he will play well.

For God's sake, this isn't Tony Eason we are talking about.

Possible epic-ness: Brady comes out playing with glove covering brace, falls behind, gets fed up in the clutch, ditches the glove, and handsomenesses his way to furthur glory.

I want incredibly close up shots of his hand during the game as blood begins to pool around the base of his thumb. A small "TB12" drawn on his hand just beside it.

As someone who is only enjoying y'all real Pats fans' joy by proxy the last couple decades, allow me to tell you how hilarious it will be when Brady dismantles the Jaguars on Sunday. Pats win by a couple touchdowns if Brady is even 70%.

Gonna be honest, not even worried and I have no idea why.
Heh, well from our previous discussion you know I AM, but now I'm even MORE worried.

Brady will probably come out and throw for 300 yards, 3 touchdowns, and put up 38 on the Jags....

Brady doesn't just want to avenge SB losses to Coughlins teams. He really wants to outdo Jason Pierre Paul, who was only able to win the SB with 2 thumbs.

My version: Hoyer starts; Brady isn’t even on the sideline. Halftime score: Jax 13, Pat 6.
As Ghost sets the ball on the tee to kick off the 2nd half, there is a rumbling murmur. Could it be? It is. It’s Tom Brady walking onto the Pats sideline!!
Brady goes 8-13 for 132yds and two TDs.
Pats win 23-16!

Brady wears a white glove. Writes #KALS on it. Bleeds into it midway through first quarter. Curt Schilling, given sideline tickets to the game, sobs uncontrollably as the last special thing he had is ripped away. Brady wins 142-3. He picks up a printed copy of the Breitbart homepage and spikes it into the last remaining DVD copy of Kingdom of Amalor: Reckoning and he is carried off the field.

I am worried about Brady but also expect quotes after the game from the Pats defense along the lines of:
"They said there were only 3 good defenses left playing, but we knew there were 4 and we showed them why"

Unfathomable in this era of dominance playing w house money that anyone would be worried
I find worrying about Brady very easy to fathom.

Being grateful for all that has come before is not at all in conflict with wanting to see the Pats in the Super Bowl again. We’re in the midst of an incredible run of success and I for one am still hungry for more. If they lose, I will still consider myself incredibly fortunate but that doesn’t at all lesson my desire to see them add to their legacy and have the fun of watching them again in the biggest sporting event of the year.

Brady is probably fine. But given DRS’ comments and the fact that the injury seems to be to his thumb and in any event is on his throwing hand, the fact remains that there is some chance that Brady’s performance will be affected. I feel a lot like I did before Game 6 in 2004: anxiously awaiting the first few plays/pitches, to see if the most important guy on the field will be able to get it done.

If you need someone to come tuck you in at night and make sure the night light is on let me know.

He jammed his thumb guys. It’s probably sore. He will play. They will win. I’m not sure the difficulty to grasp any of those three concepts.

Hopefully Brady answers questions about the hand like Matt Stone and Trey Parker answered questions about the dresses they wore to the Oscars.

Bedard had a very reassuring article today on BSJ about Brady and Favre and toughing it out thru injuries. In Bedard's opinion, and he covered both extensively, it will take a lot more than a sprained thumb to get Brady off the field. He even referenced Favre playing thru an injured thumb:
In the opener against the Raiders, Favre again wrenched his thumb on a throw that caused him immense pain. He, of course, stayed in the game, and authored [a] game-winning drive in the final two minutes against the Raiders.
Favre was in so much pain on the drive, that he flipped the ball to the official left-handed. But he completed 6-of-7 passes and passed up a game-tying field goal for a 1-yard score to Jeff Thomason with less than 15 seconds remaining.
After the toss, Favre immediately went the bench, took off his pads and was in tears from the pain.
“It looked like someone ran over his thumb with a car,” safety Leroy Butler said after the game.

Bedard described another game:
In 2003, Favre broke his right thumb, and, after a bye, returned to beat Randy Moss and the Vikings in the Metrodome 30-27 as Favre threw three touchdown passes.
