Thanks for the blog. Nice work. One question I had.

As a layperson, I would think for the he UCL injury to happen as depicted in your picture, the tip of thumb would need to be pulled away from the direction of the inner part of the thumb near the hand. I could see that type of injury if your hand was extend like shaking a hand and the thumb was pulled back.

For a right handed QB, the handoff motion would likely jam the outside of the thumb as it collided with the RBs torso and the thumb is pushed in towards the hand.

Would that motion have any impact on the likely injury? Meaning, can you sprain the UCL by the outside of the thumb and does that change the prognosis at all? Or if the thumb was hit from the outside, is it more likely it’s not the UCL but lower down the thumb?

They haven’t put another QB on the squad, so it’s Tom and Hoyer. I can’t believe he goes into Sunday without demonstrating he can throw a football like Tom Brady. It’s only Friday, I know.

I believe Brady is playing, but regarding a 3rd QB could the thought be that Tom may not be healthy enough to start the game but if it came down to a Hoyer injury during the game that Brady handing off or dinking and dunking would be better than any guy off the street?

Total head fake here. It's the achilles that remains the issue, and they invented the hand thing for the Jags/media to wonder and speculate about.

Isn't it obvious? Belichick didn't want to lose Jimmy G. because he's tired of his legacy being built with Tommy Boy. He wants to prove to the world he can win without Brady, so he ordered a Code Red by Bolden (why do you think Bolden got a touchdown run recently, huh?) on Tom's hand in practice. Now, when the Pats win with Hoyer, the debate about who was more responsible for the dynasty, Brady or BB, will be over. I'm shocked you guys haven't figured this out yet.

If he’s wearing a glove on his hand at the press conference he’s either hiding a brace or it’s bruised something fierce. Either way it seems like a legit thing.

Because the other injuries were more BB fucking with the injury report than any real chance he may have to sit out.

I haven't been too worried about Brady's availability for Sunday, but my hopes are not quite as high as before that press conference. I think it was when Brady took a few moments, and his voice cracked when he said "... it's going to be a great game..." and didn't seem to have the upbeat attitude we usually see from him. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's one of those gut feelings after watching Brady press conferences for 17 years. I dunno, I sure hope I'm wrong.

Absolutely there is a decent issue with his hand. When he came into the room and the door closed towards his right hand he pushed it off with his left hand. Unnaturally reaching across his body.

I do think he will play and is doing everything to not use the hand and left it heal up a bit.

This was abnormal for Brady, who has been injured plenty and been asked about those injuries, and never responded like this.

I could definitely buy a troll job, but it would be a first in that capacity for him.
