I don't think that you can read too much into the engagement level of a show based on how many posts are in a thread. Most of the people in the Kirk-Callahan thread (like me for example) don't listen at all but are commenting on Kirk's latest antics. So good on him and his plan, I guess?
The reason why, I think anyway and I might be wrong, that not a lot of people discuss H/A/K is because it's a good way to pass the time and nothing they say is incendiary. I mean, if Holley wanted to play the "angry black commentator" character (ala Steven A. Smith) and wanted to be Farrakhan to Callahan's David Duke, I'm sure that this thread would have a lot more posts. But Holley didn't want to do that because he's not an asshole.
And that's the main reason why Michael Holley is going to be missed. On a station full of assholes, no-talents and retreads, Michael Holley (as well as Keefe and Arnold) seemed like good guys that didn't lower themselves to sewer radio. If that doesn't get people flipping out and posting on SoSH, so be it. That says more about Holley than Minihane, frankly.
Glenn Ordway always said that the guys on the Big Show were like the guys you sit next to at a sports bar. If Fred Smerlas or Larry Johnson or Steve DeOssie or any of those nitwits sat next to me at a bar, I'd move. But if Holley or Arnold or Keefe sat next to me, I'd stick around.
