As an umpire, I am somewhat irked by seeing all these articles (like the one linked to above) referring to Molina taking a "foul tip" to the groin. If the play had been a "foul tip" then poor Molina would not have ended up in the hospital (since that would mean he caught the ball) - he was hit in the nuts by a "foul ball", not a "foul tip".....

Not semantics at all, there is a specific rules difference between the two - after a "foul tip" the ball is live and runners can advance, after a "foul ball" the play is dead, no runners can advance....

"Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna was charged with one count of assault on a woman in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The Toronto Police Service is withholding details to protect the identity of the alleged victim, said Constable Jenifferjit Sidhu. Osuna, 23, has been released and is scheduled to appear in Old City Hall Court on June 18. Constable Sidhu said police would not release the location or nature of the incident, “not because he’s a baseball player,” but because in all cases of this type, such details might lead to the identity of the woman, which is protected. The incident will undoubtedly be reviewed by Major League Baseball, which can hand down discipline under its domestic violence policy."

John Lott (@LottOnBaseball)#BlueJays closer Roberto Osuna was arrested this morning and charged with assault on a woman, Toronto police confirm.

Strange deal, neither Moore nor Romero is in SEA's top 30 prospects on mlb.com, and SEA's system is I think the worst in baseball.

I think that’s a good move for the Rays. They were shopping Span and Colome in the off-season, but the market for them wasn’t very strong. Taking on Span’s contract was the price of getting the prospects they wanted back from SF in the Longo trade, so it seemed clear they would try to flip him. Colome hasn’t been setting anything on fire except for their chances of winning when he comes in, so their gamble that they’d get more for him by holding onto him into the season isn’t really paying off. The Rays are doing pretty well this year, all things considered, but unlikely to be a playoff team and they’re not really going to miss Span or Colome too much. Take the prospects, bank some cash to spend next year and move on.

Acuña calling to be safe instead keeping track of his legs. Classic ACL hyperextension. Surprised that the muliple announcers made it seem like waking off means no significant injury, guess they don't watch much NFL.
