Gini makes it 1-0 on a header off a corner scramble. The watch makes the call that it crossed but it should have been obvious.

Bookend half for the Reds....out in front at the beginning and the end, but big lull in the middle. Got to be better all the way through and figure out how to handle Eriksen, who has been the best player on the pitch by far.

So sloppy by Spurs. I don’t think they’re playing that bad but over the top to Kane isn’t working and Liverpool should be up by 3 solely because of Spurs mistakes.

Oooooooooooo Lucas...

Two open breaks for LFC, zero goals to show for it. Spurs have nothing to complain about now.

That mistake by Gomez to let Lucas in was really the first howler he's made this season - great tackle a few minytes later to atone for it, however.

Otherwise, the 2nd half has been a little rough and choppy football.

I think Spurs are really gonna have to worry about top 4. They look so ordinary right now aside from Moura who has been wasteful but active

The accelerating decomposition of Mousa Dembele has made the Spurs midfield situation troubling.

I think they’re going to regret not selling/replacing him this summer, that was the pitiless Belichick move.

Ugly finish. Let’s get out of here before the defense allows another one.

Relatedly, I assume at this point that Fabinho has hit on Klopp’s wife or something.

That was a lot closer than it needed to be. Neither team at their best. Liverpool should have put the game to bed well before the last knockings.

Dier was a complete liability all match. Dembele slow to move the ball and of foot. Against this Liverpool side you just cannot turn it over in midfield and Spurs midfield was so loose

Winks and Wanyama need to come back from their injuries. Dier needs to come back from whatever planet he is currently on. Dembele, I don’t think is ever coming back for more than 30min at a time.

It could improve, but this is the most ragged I’ve seen that midfield since Ryan Mason was involved.

Helluva save by De Gea in stoppage time to preserve the win. It was a fun last 20 minutes of up & down action.

I think pink is a fine color for a kit, but this United shade is so light I thought my TV tint settings were out of whack.

They had a lot of players go deep into the WC and then Son had to play in the Asian Games. They’re flat

You’re right but they’re not the only ones and regardless this isn’t a problem that solves itself with the PL schedule through Jan. Not many teams will be able to press the midfield into so many mistakes but there’s a real problem there which enough teams may exploit to pull Spurs back into a pack

Spurs have a particularly small squad, so the fact that so many of them had a busy summer is really hurting them right now. Of course, it's only going to get worse with CL starting this week.

I agree.

They will probably turn it around but top-four and even top-six aren't assured.

This Wolves-Burnley game is great.

0-0 at 39' but they've really been going at it. Wolves have had the better of it and would have scored a couple if not for great saves by Hart.

I can't tell if this Wolves team is really, really good or if Burnley is really, really bad. Because the Wolves have carried every single minute of this game. Only Burnley's keep has kept them in it .

Another for Arnautović but looks like he may have extended his knee on the goal

edit: Tosun has to score there

Everton shit the bed today. Granted they've been hit with tons of injuries but this was a bad flashback to last year - blown assignments in the back four, missed chances up front, nonexistent transition and buildup play, and lethargy all around.

Apparently Lucas Perez is refusing to warm up?
Apparently it wasn't anything really. Pellegrini was going to sub him on for Arnautovic, and told him to warm up, but then Arnautovic had to come off right away and there was a free kick for Everton, so he sent on Antonio who was already warmed up instead.

For your workplace viewing pleasure, Southampton-Brighton is a good game. 2-1 Saints at 75' - Ings just scored a penalty and then Duffy had a nice header at the other end.

I like Brighton's green away kits. Not enough green kits in the PL (sorry SJH).

Murray buries a pen at 90+1 to equalize. Crazy game.

I said earlier this season that Brighton were bad. I'll retract that.

Everton are bad.
