Damn, good for him. Lot of injuries and a lot more life to enjoy.

The right decision. Hard to top going out any better than those final 2 games

Thank you for the Championships and other incredible memories. One of the most entertaining players on and off the field.

An all-time great, privileged to watch his career for the team I root for. Glad he’s going out of his terms.

Between here and everywhere.
Damn. The dude was such a pleasure to watch. He was both the exact opposite, and the complete embodiment of what the Patriots ask from their players.

The dude lives his life like few others.

Best of luck in retirement, but I’ll miss him throwing dudes out the club.

Weird mix of sadness and happy he’s doing it on his terms.

I was trying to think of my favorite Gronk memories, and there are like 20 of them. Forget the pure dominance, the sheer entertainment value with Gronk is going to be missed as well. Throwing guys out of the club, the soldier walk in the London game, still thinking 69 is the best number ever, yo soy fiesta. Dude is one of a kind. Gonna miss him, but it’s the right decision.

I bet this takes the Patriots by surprise. Hard to believe they do the Gilmore conversion if they had known.

What a joy to watch. He literally gave the Pats everything. So many injuries. That last catch against the rams. The Gronk Spike. This is quite sad. Thank you for everything Gronk

As a fan it sucks to lose him, but I can’t blame the guy. I would walk away too right now if I were him, with my brain in tact. Good luck to him in the future.

Damn. What a player. Hard loss for the team but happy he got to do it on his terms and going out on top.

Edit - after rewatching that highlight film I think i forgot how good he was; fast strong great hands.

I’m sad, but I’m happy for him and he’s provided some of the best Pats memories for my family and I.

Last catch. He clearly wasn't peak Gronk for awhile, but his blocking was ridiculous and whenever they needed him.....BOOM! One of the great players and characters in Boston history.

As a fan, I'm sorry I won't be able to see him play again. I think it was the smart decision for him.

Thank you, Gronk.

Bless be, Gronk. Understandable as much as it hurts. Do what was right for your body and for you. Now go enjoy those career earnings you said you would smartly hold off to use. One last spike for you, man. The exuberance you always brought to just enjoying this game but knowing work came first was admirable. You were asked to do it, you did it. Blocked like a freight train, catch radius and range that of a Weber store.

Man, his last reception though. It's just so poetic. An incredibly difficult weak side slant on an absolutely incredible ball placement to set up the winning score the next player.

Just so many memories...Denver 2014 with a one-handed Tarzan rope grab, the shimmy in Washington, at Denver in 2015 murdering an all-time great defense, beating KJ Wright on the seam in man in SB49, the double move off angle ball to take the then-lead in SB52, killing Pittsburgh up the seams when they finally decided to move off of zone, throwing guys the fuck out of the club in Indy...

I’m sad for us as Pats fans but thrilled for Gronk to go out on top and on his own terms. My favorite football player ever by a wide margin.

I knew we had something different when he and his family did that draft day huddle/mosh pit.

What fantastic player to root for. Don't begrudge him one bit. First ballot HOF right?
