Amir Johnson veteran presence!Imagine if this happened in Boston...
What happened there?Imagine if this happened in Boston...
ESPN caught that on camera and Doris started talking about it. Amir went back to the locker room shortly thereafter so someone got word to the bench. Not a great look for Embiid there. What happened there?
"What got caught" is my question--sorry if I'm dense hereESPN caught that on camera and Doris started talking about it. Amir went back to the locker room shortly thereafter so someone got word to the bench. Not a great look for Embiid there.

ah thanks, forgot there was a rule against thatAmir texting with his phone on the bench, Embiid looking on, mid-game.
Yup, the Sixers only chance at stopping them was to have Embiid back to clean up the mess at the rim (which he did a great job of). The problem is that he's not fit enough to stay on the floor right now.Brooklyn's guards are too quick for the Sixers.
Will let him get some much needed rest. Those Shirley Temples won't drink themselves!Embiid caught texting on the bench which is a clear and significant violation of league rules that could get him suspended for G2. Crazy first game!
Closed the half on an 8-0 run though. Was going to go to sleep early (Europe time), but might stay up and watch this one.Raptors can’t hit a thing. Orlando’s length is really bothering them.
The Nets are probably the least equipped to defend him, at least in terms of personnel, out of all the teams in the playoffs and he was invisible today. He should be imposing himself against any of their guards or blowing by Carrol/Harris/Dudley, instead he’s adding to his unimpressive playoff resume. If I was a Sixers fan I’d be pretty concerned that he’s just not mentally wired to make the most of his physical gifts.Ben Simmons is a problem for PHI. He was their best defender today and he was still a team high - 21. He's borderline unplayable in the playoffs
It's not necessarily a mental thing: there's a good chance that his s*** doesn't work in the playoffs. The Nets are probably the least equipped to defend him, at least in terms of personnel, out of all the teams in the playoffs and he was invisible today. Raptors hit a 3 at the buzzer to cut the lead to 8. Exactly the way the first half ended in the first game. Hope the outcome is the same.Closed the half on an 8-0 run though. Was going to go to sleep early (Europe time), but might stay up and watch this one.
He can't blow by Carrol/Harris/Dudley because they give themselves plenty of room. The Nets did the same thing every playoff opponent will do, give Simmons and Embiid all the 3s they want, and give Simmons any jumper he wants 12 feet and out, build a wall in the paint and watch him pass up jumper after jumper and pass to players you can cover. The Nets are probably the least equipped to defend him, at least in terms of personnel, out of all the teams in the playoffs and he was invisible today. The Sixers keep allowing the Nets dribble penetration and he’s going to get plenty of rest starting in about a week. Will let him get some much needed rest. Those Shirley Temples won't drink themselves!
Amir Johnson will take the bullet for text-gate. Embiid was just caught looking at Johnson's "daughter's health update". Your point stands though - not a good look.Wow talk about laying an egg!! J-But probably felt like he was playing with Towns and Wiggins!

That’s how nearly every team defends him now, playoffs or not, but they’ve still gotta be able to pick him up once he gets within 15 feet. Some games he stays aggressive and gets to the rim or dumps off to a cutter for an easy bucket, other games he stands around not-shooting. Doing the latter in the playoffs when your opponent’s best interior defender only plays ten minutes is a problem. He can't blow by Carrol/Harris/Dudley because they give themselves plenty of room. Embiid is clearly NOT the one with the phone, Amir Johnson is. He may be fined for looking but there's a 0% chance Embiid is getting suspended.Embiid caught texting on the bench which is a clear and significant violation of league rules that could get him suspended for G2.
Philly's gonna be a tough market for Simmons if he doesn't like fans booing.
Lowry gets away with a lotHow the fuck isn't that a foul???
It should have been. MCW was bleeding out on the court. How the fuck isn't that a foul???
ORL has a real chance. If Isaac can slow down Siakam, TOR is lacking reliable scoring options after KL.Magic up 7 on the Raps, giving Toronto issues with their length. I don't think they have a real chance, but they've been decent for a good while now this year.
Yes, by average and casual fans. NBA-heads love the guy.Siakam is so underrated.
He’s gotta be the front runner for most improved player, right?Yes, by average and casual fans. NBA-heads love the guy.
