Was out there yesterday, and wanted to give a few thoughts:

1. Not sure I’m completely with the “it’s over” crowd about Brooks, but I’ll agree that it’s all about him after that round. He looks absolutely in control of himself/his game, and he’s one of the only players getting the speed of the greens right.

2. No one else is getting the speed of the greens right. Felt like every uphill putt was left short. Sometimes really short. I hung out for a good 90+ minutes on the hill in back of the 8th hole and watched 7 or 8 groups leave every single putt short of the hole. Sometimes by a lot.

If Brooks doesn’t run away and hide, my money is on Day. I only saw him on about four holes, but, man did he make some shots. (His recovery on 15 after a terrible tee shot was ridiculous.) Unfortunately, his putting was awful.

Here comes DJ
Yup everyone who was afraid of a Brooks bore fest will be thrilled to see DJ joining. Wouldn't everyone love to see them paired together on Saturday and Sunday. DJ might even smile

Jesus DJ has about 50 yards into the 1st green after that tee shot. My word.

Brutal putt though.

Spieth showing some signs of life. Think the driver will be his downfall this week, but he’s hanging in there.

US Open and Open Championship are the best. Full coverage. The Masters is, by far the worst, even tho their streaming options are the best, because you only get TV coverage from 3pm to 7pm on the first three days. Then 2pm to 7pm on the last day.(this year was different, obviously)

PGA Championship isn't that bad. TV coverage is 11am to the end on both Saturday and Sunday, 1pm to 7pm on Thursday and Friday. But the streaming is weak. Only two featured groups and that's it. At least the featured groups were excellent.

I was just looking and the US Open should be fun. FS1 on Thur/Fri will be 12:30-7:30 with FOX taking over from 7:30 - 10:30. Saturday will be from Noon-10:00 and Sunday 2:00 -10:00.

I was listening on PGA radio earlier. Brooks was on 4. Second shot 7i 210 into the green. That’s just incredible.

He’s played 25 holes and only 2 players are within 5 shots.

The back 9 is tough, especially 10-12, but I don’t see him backing up much. He is too damned good. Like McCord said, if he can get to -13, this thing might be over.

Brooks Koepka last 18 majors not including this weekend
18 starts
3 Wins
6 Top 10
6 Top 25
No missed cuts

I wish I liked him more as he is incredible to watch.

Just for fun. Taking Brooks current pace and saying he wins this weekend.

He would need to keep up the same pace for 9 more years, to have a similar major result as TW.

Tiger - 55 Majors (1997-2011Masters)
55 Starts
14 Wins
21 Top 10's
13 Top 25's
2 MC

Brooks Current pace staying steady for the next 9 years
55 starts
11.5 Wins
18 Top 10's
18 Top 25's
0 MC

TLDR - I guess I didn't realize that Tigers run was very strong for a full 14 years.

Damn. Koepka wouldn’t be doing much better if he was allowed to just place the ball where he wanted.

Can we just call it after today? My fantasy team would really appreciate that :)
