Maybe the answer isn't just that Rapinoe is having a poor game but also that the right back for Spain is dominating the U.S. offensive left side. She's been the player of the match.

That's a penalty but that's rough for Spain. The ball was moving away from goal and trouble.

That's the kind of foul that is technically a penalty but is rarely called if it doesn't prevent a goal-scoring chance.

I mean, she is studs up into Lavalle's leg. That should be a PK.
it's not 100% clear to me that she actually made contact, but given the angles it's hard to be sure. She was charging forward into Lavelle and if she made contact, she didn't knock the leg out of its path at all.

I think she probably did, but yikes that's a harsh way to concede there, if Morgan Pinoe buries it.
