Extra Inch is a more serious (but still light and fun), more tactical spin-off from TFC. It features Windy (young players and players out on loan), Bardi, in a more serious tone than Fighting Cock Bardi and the tactics guy, Nathan A Clark. Better than TFC from a purely football perspective.Haven't listened to the post-Arsenal Fighting Cock, and don't think I've heard Extra Inch yet, I'll take a look.
Supposedly Levy already offered Eriksen a big raise from his current 75k/week to 200k/week, which is about what Kane makes, but Eriksen turned it down. Which is probably the smart move if Eriksen can get Ramsey money on a free next summer, which he should since Eriksen is better than Ramsey. Obviously there's significant injury risk for Eriksen.Question for the local Spurs fans ..
The tea leaves suggest that Levy wanted to sell Erickson for vast mega pounds .. but no offer arrived ..
Erickson would seem to have the team over a barrel here given he can leave on a Bosman next summer. Will Levy sanction a huge raise - probably eclipsing Kane - or just let him leave?
This “running down your contract” gambit is going to be much more prevalent in the future I think as players understand the vast sums they can demand .
I’ve been thinking about this trend, and I think eventually teams will catch on that paying players higher wages when they arrive in a free makes it thy much harder to offload them later. This “running down your contract” gambit is going to be much more prevalent in the future I think as players understand the vast sums they can demand .
It's not even next summer though, right? He can sign the deal in January like Ramsey did.Supposedly Levy already offered Eriksen a big raise from his current 75k/week to 200k/week, which is about what Kane makes, but Eriksen turned it down. He can sign a pre-contract with a non-English club in January, yes. It's not even next summer though, right? He can sign the deal in January like Ramsey did.
Do you know whether these January pre-contracts have injury contingencies built in? I have no idea how they work.He can sign a pre-contract with a non-English club in January, yes.
I don't believe they do. As far as I know they are regular contacts they just don't start for 6 months.Do you know whether these January pre-contracts have injury contingencies built in? I have no idea how they work.
It's like Ledley King is back.hi everyone, is this where we talk about the tottenham spurs?
Thanks for this. I'll give them a try.Don't know which all you listen to, but I've found the pair of Fighting Cock and Extra Inch have been pretty even handed and level headed...
this thread is for fans of the tottenspurs, not the Montreal Impact
with all our hearts. This thread is where we talk about how much we will miss Fernando Llorente.
at this point, his knees are in better shape than mine. It's like Ledley King is back.
Yeah but one was a tap in and two others were penalities. Very unimpressive, would not rate him as a top striker.Kane had hat trick for England today.
Liverpool just re-upped Van Dijk on a six-year deal.I think teams will have to give signing/extension bonuses to keep wages (and wage structure) reasonable while enticing players to not get to Bosman. 10mm sign-on bonus on top of 200k/week? Cheaper than buying a replacement...
Ya know, after tomorrow there is a good chance Kane will have scored more international goals in four years than Del Piero scored in 14.Kane never dived in his career.
I mean, why even open your mouth to say something so clearly and demonstrably false?
The ones you list were all a couple of years ago. I'm probably overgeneralizing, but it feels to me like the market has curdled since then - that the ultra-high-priced players are turning out to be very expensive mistakes that have to be loaned or sold for pennies on the dollar - screwing up the dressing room chemistry and team construction in the process.Well, I bet Real and Juventus are satisfied with Ronaldo. Same with PSG and Mbappe.
Dembele & Suarez to Barca. Definitely Virgil to Liverpool. De Bruyne.
But yeah in terms of huge money signings, there are a lot of James who just don't really fit what teams are trying to do.
And your point is....what?Ya know, after tomorrow there is a good chance Kane will have scored more international goals in four years than Del Piero scored in 14.
That SocrManiac's tears over a game that happened two years ago are delicious. And your point is....what?
Waiting for contact, feeling it, and going down easy isn't my definition of a dive. IF that's the case Salah dives literally every matchday. SO does Messi.Huh? He dove last matchday. He's a diver. It's not really open for debate at this point. What does two years ago have to do with anything?
What is with going into the Spurs thread with an obvious attempt at trolling the people who post in it?What is with the insistence of bringing up other players to justify Kane being a diver and saying his never done it?
Sure, if it's obviously asinine, and not a tendentious interpretation of a bland nothingburger. When athletes in other sports say something asinine, aren’t they typically called out for it in the other forums here? Even in this forum: Mourinho with United, Vardy with Leicester, Wenger with Arsenal... Spurs fans elsewhere are having a good laugh about this. I didn’t realize we were humorless here.
If I may offer an opinion here...You could start a thread to discuss diving.
I was arguing specifically with the take that Kane dived vs Arsenal, not that he has never dived. I didn’t think it was a dive and brought up other players to make the point that that exact play happens like 10 times a game every game, just not always in the box (though it also happens in the box often). If I may offer an opinion here...
The topic being discussed isn't diving in general, it's Harry Kane saying he has never dived. That on its own may be thread-worthy, it may not be, but it's something that i would think could start in the Spurs thread and be broken out if it got enough discussion. There was certainly discussion of Suarez's antics (including his tendency to, um...go down easily) from fans of all sides that went on in the Liverpool threads in the past.
I'm not saying people should come in and openly try to troll other fans (that used to happen more in this forum in the past but tends to stay in the game threads more these days), but each team thread should be more than just that team's fans telling each other how great everything is (or in the case of the Arsenal thread, how the world is continually ending). Just my 2 cents.
Plus if we don’t have the trolling we wouldn’t have the performance theater of Liverpool fans intimating that others are being too sensitivePart of this forum is the banter. Socr's post was fine, the responses busting balls back were fine. We used to post weekly about Suarez's antics, and some Liverpool fans got overly sensitive when it happened like some people did in this thread. Maybe its because I support the most hated club on here so I'm used to it, but this forum is small enough to where we all know the allegiances of the posters and harmless banter (trolling) is fine in small doses. Kane's statement was stupid enough that it should be ridiculed.
Jesus this is beautiful. Calling @Dummy HoyPut me in the pro-banter camp. What are we really going to talk about if we can't go into each others threads and insinuate that Spurs have blown their chance at winning anything meaningful and will soon descend back into mediocrity, that Arsenal have become a second tier club led by the Spanish Brendan Rodgers, that United have experienced the most astounding fall from grace short of AC Milan in football history, that Liverpool still haven't won the league in 30 years, that Chelsea are nothing more than the unity of a famously racist fanbase and a bunch of Russian oil money, and that everything City accomplishes will always be accompanied by a massive asterisk because they're playing on highly unethical cheat mode, funding their pretty football with the blood of imported slave labor and the tears of human rights activists?
