I wasn't exactly basing my opinion on Nantz's comments. Are you better off trying to stop Baltimore once and getting the ball back with a chance to tie or having to stop them, score, and either convert an onsides kick or stop them again to get a chance to tie or take the lead?
I get it. I just don't think the 2019 Baltimore Ravens have made math irrelevant. There's a reason why those numbers exist. And you're discounting the Browns CONVERTING the try. You keep assuming they don't convert.

I also completely get why someone may disagree.

why are you leaving out the chances of converting the 2 and only being down 7? of course if you knew you wouldn't convert the first 2 then you'd rather be down 8 than 9

How do these 2 figure that Tennessee's result doesn't matter for their playoff hopes? It clearly does.

Bad phrasing. They just mean they can't clinch or be eliminated today.

To me, it makes the most sense to be risk averse with the time that was left and "extend the game". Time, score, and opponent shapes my thinking in these situations. Get it to a point where you only have to stop the Ravens once and get the ball back with a chance to tie it on that possession. Situations and circumstances could shift my thinking but in this situation I'm not betting I can stop that offense twice in 8 minutes plus scoring twice. Better off getting the XP, hope I stop them, and take my chance with my offense scoring and getting the 2.

Again, if you get the 2 and go down 7 that is fantastic. But, if I was Kitchens I don't take that risk in this situation.

Just curious as to how many pundits were predicting the Ravens would finish as the #1 seed in the AFC.

I'll hang up and listen.

Miami has the ball on Cinn 30, 4th and 3. They try to get them to jump and then don't run a play.

Why not just go for it? Both teams suck, play the game. You're on the 30.
