Somebody named W.A.P. Smallbone scored for Southampton today.

California. Duh.
Rochdale equalized late against Newcastle when 17 year old Luke Matheson put in a cross that 40 year old Aaron Wilbraham put away.

So 3rd round starts today. Started a thread just to post this:

Love a league 2 guy talking shit about John Stones in the summer, getting the matchup in the FA cup and backing it up with a goal.
I love everything about this. Will probably be his career highlight and the thing he tells the other old timers about in the pub every other week.

Here's the clip, and it's pretty classy.

Wednesday had been in a bit of a free fall, so it was nice to see them go grab a win at Brighton.

I watched the Rochdale game and they impressed- could have won that.

Rochdale looked great in the second half, that was a fun match.

On a related note, Newcastle are in rough shape and I think they may be heading towards relegation. Yes, they have 25 points, but there may be a certain amount of luck hiding how bad they could really be. They have a -13 goal differential, and to make matters worse an xG differential of -20. As a result of that xG and xGA, they are expected to have 15 points so far, which is the worst xPoints in the league. Their leading goal scorer is Jonjo Shelvey (5). Joelinton has 1 goal in 1613 minutes, Almiron has 2 goals in 1742 minutes, and Saint-Maximin has 1 goal in 820 minutes.

With the latest barrage of injuries and a possible regression, they could be in for a serious battle to stay up. A lucky streak masked some problems for a bit, but things could get ugly.

At roughly the hour mark of the first slate-

Boro up a goal to nil Over Spurs

Rooney’s Derby County up by the same over Palace

Sheffield Utd 1-0 Fylde, a fifth tier side who just had a scramble in the box and should have scored

No sponsor and no names on back for Chelsea. Royal blue shirt and shorts, yellow numbers and trim, yellow socks, what looks to be a much older Chelsea badge, and that’s it. Beautiful.

The sponsor and Nike logos are there. They’re the same color as the shirt with a different finish.

Milner off after 10 minutes with an apparent hamstring issue. Backline is now Williams, Gomez, Phillips, and Larouci for Liverpool

Everton should have 3 goals but every shot's been directly at Adrian

Pedro Chirivella marking Yerry Mina on corners is a sight to see

30 minutes into the second half and Everton have not gone a single good thing. Not one.

On the rare occasion where an Everton forward has the ball Delph or Schneiderlin aren’t within 30 yards of them

The Jones goal was obviously spectacular and unexpected. But keeping Everton from having even a half chance in the entire second half was impressive.

No, because a team from a Sunday over-40 beer league would have kept Everton without a chance.

ONLY Sidibe went over to the Everton supporters at the whistle. ONE player.

This is the WORST display I have seen them put in. I’m embarrassed frankly.

I’m watching something called Gillingham host West Ham; the G is pronounced the same as in .gif

West Ham fielded almost a full strength side, and it looks very much like a bunch of very tired players against fresh players.
Still scoreless and Ryan Fredericks hurt a hammy, so we're down to the 1,000 year old right back for the next month or two probably, which will go great in the league I'm sure.

I forgot how much worse officiating is in the FA cup. 2 penalties not given, and just wildly inconsistent with cards and fouls (mostly favoring the small club).

Baggies have been really struggling after a great start. This would be a nice win, especially for Bilic as you note.
