I’m sure someone will show a drive by drive analysis proving I am off base but it seems crazy that the Niners only called 20 runs in this game.

I just don’t understand why SF passed so often on that next to last drive when the running game, especially the unconventional running game, was so effective.

I gotta say fellas, the last couple years it’s been kinda hard being a man. Was starting to feel like we couldn’t just do whatever we wanted with impunity any more.

But, this last week has been a great reminder that with a little bit of talent or money or political power, we can still get away with anything!

Feels damn good.

Please explain?
Sorry—it was a reaction to the nfl screwing up what millions of people saw: a delay of game. Chief deserved it, but it’s hilarious that they can’t be bothered to get the calls right. Missed offsides, unclear TD, missed delay of game...all in the last 10 minutes of game play.

To be fair, Kansas City is also in Kansas. The Chiefs just don’t play on that side of the border.
KCKS is actually a different city, a suburb of KCMO.

I learned this during the few hours I spent in KC while driving cross country. It was about all I needed.

I feel like Jimmy G gave us a nice sneak peak at what a SB featuring Tony Romo would have looked like

KC while I loath them are really well-coached, unlike Shahanan apparently. And had a solid defense this year. they were the more complete team and that panned out over 60 minutes.

SF was tantalizingly close though to having Mahomes play poorly enough to still win, then started making mistakes all over.

this just makes me appreciate the Pats more and more, how we managed 6 of these in 19 seasons

I've never seen the Masked Singer, is it supposed to be tough to guess who it is? I think they said the singer has played in nine Super Bowls.

Okay I must have heard that wrong...

CNN just congratulated the Chiefs for winning the Super Bowl over the Vikings

The final 9ers drive is Exhibit A for any time someone bitches about McDaniels calling a draw on second or third and long late. They had all the time they needed and a young coach and young qb panicked. Batted ball, incomplete pass to third/fourth receiver, incomplete to third/fourth receiver, sack. Once they got to midfield they should have been draining clock and getting yards with Mostert, Coleman, and Kittle.

The Chiefs are going to be a major handful as long as Mahomes is healthy. He had a pretty crap game and still threw for nearly 300 yards and 2 scores. That's pretty good for a "crap" game.

But let's see how they handle it when he's making $40 million a year instead of $4 million. That means next year may be their last great shot at a SB until he becomes really really expensive and it throws their cap situation into hell.

Chiefs down 20-10, early 4th quarter. KC driving for a key score. Mahomes throws a terrible pass behind the receiver that gets intercepted at the SF 13...returned to the SF 20. Niners have the ball, up ten, their defense having stymied KC's vaunted offense for a little more than three quarters.

Then this:

SF: 5 plays, 17 yards, punt
KC: 10 plays, 83 yards, touchdown
SF: 3 plays, 5 yards, punt
KC: 7 plays, 65 yards, touchdown
SF: 7 plays, 27 yards, turnover on downs
KC: 2 plays, 42 yards, touchdown

SF outplays KC for over three quarters and then BAM, just like that, KC knocks the 49ers out cold.

Unreal. They did this to Houston, Tennessee, and then San Francisco. Incredibly impressive.

Shanahan got too conservative and didn’t utilize Kittle nearly enough. He needs to answer for giving away the possession before the end of he half as well.

FWIW (not much, I know), the Patriots' defense did the best job against KC after Mahomes returned, holding them to 23 points and 346 yards. Nobody else held them down as much as that. Denver allowed 23 points as well, but gave up 419 yards.

NE also did the best job of anyone against the Tannehill version of Tennessee as well. Holding them to just 14 points of offense and 272 yards total.

Yup. Hell of a defense that will be quickly forgotten. I do think the defense would have struggled mightily in a hypothetical matchup with SF.

Good game, and props to the Chiefs and Andy Reid.

Maholmes as MVP is absurd.
Mahomes had two interceptions and two fumbles. Fortunately for KC, they recovered both fumbles (well, one went out of bounds). But he easily could have had four turnovers today.

It's SOP in the NFL that the play clock hits zero, and the offense gets another 1.5 to 2 seconds to snap the ball before any delay of game flag flies.
