I should know this, but how the hell does the Thursday Night game get picked. This is a prime time game and they go with Fish and Jags? I’ll watch this shit but I mean...do better NFL.

Every team plays on Thursday night once a year.

I always have a rooting interest in watching the Dolphins lose, and always enjoy the hell out of it when they manage to do so in spectacular fashion. That said, the Jags aren't especially likely to accomplish the latter.

At least we won't be subject to the Jags old color rush mustard uniforms? Looking for positives here guys.

Jags v. Miami actually has the potential to be a fun shootout. Fitz-Magic v. Minshew-Magic. I'm all in.

48.5 o/u fwiw.

There are some guys I am interested in watching.

On the Dolphins:
Defense: DL Christians Wilkins #94, SS Brandon Jones #29, SC/RCB Noah Igbinoghene #23
Offense: LT Austin Jackson #73, RG Solomon Kindley #66

Aside from Brandon Jones none of them were really guys I was that high on but I liked Wilkins.

On the Jaguars:
Defense: Edge Josh Allen #41, Edge K'Lavon Chaisson #45, DL Davon Hamilton #52, ILB Shaq Quarterman #50, CB CJ Henderson #23
Offense: RT Jawaan Taylor #75, WR/RB/Swiss-army-knife Laviska Shenault #10

Underline = not a starter

Very curious how they use Viska - he was someone I was skeptical would ever be more than a CP84 type. Chaisson was another controversial pick because while he had the traits he didn't have the pass rushing production you want.

My son had that exact shirt (Blake Bortles #5 and all). He wore it to school on picture day a few years back. My wife was not amused.

I like the Dolphins tonight; they’ve played two of the better teams in the league and haven’t embarrassed themselves, so I think they’re a tick underrated by Vegas right now. (The Jags are also not quite as bad as expected, but the win over Indy got people’s attention; I think they are properly rated.)

next week its broncos @ jets aka the trevor bowl

Here’s is where we are different as fans. I assume that if the Jets get Trevor, he will get hurt or suck and Sam will go somewhere else and be good.

If we don’t get him, he will be awesome and Sam will be mediocre.

You still have hope based off 3 SB wins In your lifetime and many appearances. I’m more in the George Carlin “the public sucks, fuck hope” camp.

I love my team but don’t assume anything will work. It’s probably more relaxing for me if the Jets get the number 2 pick and trade it. We need a lot of guys.

Why are The Jags favored? I think the fish will win.
Neither the Jags nor the Dolphins are as bad as expected, but as I said, the Jags’ Week 1 win over the Colts got them some cred with Vegas. Losing respectably to two likely playoff teams, as the Dolphins have done, didn’t have the same effect.

Also, if you look at DVOA on Football Outsiders, Minshew has been roughly league average. SSS makes those numbers mostly meaningless, but if you believe the Jags actually stumbled into a league-average QB, then yeah, they’re better than the Dolphins. But I’m not buying that.

I should also announce, I think the fish will win but I’m rooting for the Jags.

I don’t get this pre game. All 4 picked the Jags? Why? Fish lost to Bills and Pats who are likely to be playoff teams only clearly worse than Ravens and KC. Jags were lucky to beat the Colts and lost to Tennessee. It doesn’t make sense. I have this as a coin flip game with a lean towards fish. I have to be missing something. Someone get hurt on Dolphins and I’m not factoring it in?

I’m with you — expect the Dolphins to win tonight.

You typed this when I was writing another post. Yeah, we’re on the same page. Now Jags will win by 17 and I won’t have to look dumb alone.

Byron Jones is injured.
Dolphins fan here and my expectations pretty much would match your take.

I know a pre game jinx when I see one...they’re covering Minshew like he’s Burrow or Brady.
He’s throwing 3 pucks tonight.

honestly denver will likely pick between 5-8 denver roster is pretty set for 2021 expect at OT Denver has hope but to be honest is lacking at QB and OT we can fran simmons and trade him if we have to i wouild rather keep him but he might want 18-20 mil a season which is too much for a safety

Refs really didn’t need to call that horse collar. I remember why that was made a rule, and that wasn’t it.

Heading towards an all-time easy TNF over, which has at times in the past been the graveyard of overs.

Staying up for this one. Expecting some 2nd half fireworks.

After a worrisome start to the half, that fumble puts us back in business.

Gardner could have thrown that anywhere in the endzone with as much air as possible and it’s a TD.

Easy enough for me to say from the couch without a 260 pound guy running a 4.6 40 at me.
