Rooting for the Astros over the Rays is like rooting for Darth Vader to kill the Ewoks. Yeah, they're funny looking and aren't very powerful ... but they're our allies in the fight against s massive source of evil

Did you miss 2008?

Well they certainly are funny looking; that alternate cap with a ray on it is beyond hideous..............what clambrain in marketing came up with that one?

That cap should have a mesh back and an adjustable snap back tab on it to complete the dollar store look.

Those caps should be available at Sheets free with a fill up.

I have no hate for the Astors; we beat them in the 2018 ALCS, we lost to the Rays in the 2008 ALCS and they knocked us out of the playoffs in 2011.

And Joe Maddon.

And cowbells.

I’m rooting for Houston to win it all and for it to be really awkward and contentious next year.

Some people just like to watch the world burn...

Well, your answer certainly trumps the other anti-Rays sentiments

I also want chaos, on top of it all, but holding on to the 3-0 uniqueness trumps everything unfortunately for me.

Chaos is certainly in the fat part of the distribution when you combine these two teams and Dusty Baker playing Calvinball with his pitching in a game seven.

The Astros have nine rookie pitchers active, five used today. It is amazing they are holding it together this well.

Sports; it's the toy box of life, is it not? Does any of this really matter; are our lives better or worse if our teams win or lose? Whether your team wins or loses, the next day you wake up, have breakfast, get ready for work and off you go......win or lose, the world is no different.

My Dad died three and a half years ago; my attitude about sports has done a 180 since then, sports rank just about last on my "what's important in life" list.

I had a shit day yesterday; two of our cats have had to be put down since this whole COVID shitshow started, we have plots at a pet cemetery for all of them (don't ask; wasn't my idea, but now that it's done, not gonna lie, I'm happy we did it), they only started recently doing burials again, yesterday I had the pleasure of having to see both of them be put to rest............................

That aside; I don't have to rationalize my hatred for the Rays, Devil Rays, whatever they are called. Since they popped up like a pimple on the ass of MLB, they've been nothing short of ants at a fucking picnic.

I don't like them, their shithole of a stadium, their dollar store approach or their beer league softball uniforms; what abomination do they wear on throwback day by the way?

We all have opposing teams we hate; the Rays are mine. I enjoy rooting against them, just like I enjoy rooting against the Dolphins, 76ers and the Flyers, I hate all four of those teams above all others, no rational reason why, I just hate them and if that makes me a bad person, guilty as charged.

Every one of you has a team or two that goes up your tailpipe sideways, it's all part of fandom.

But I love Choi, man do I wish he'd land on the Red Sox................LOVE that man.

If my hating on the Rays upsets any of you, sorry, not my intent, not trying to upset anyone.

I love this forum, it's a massive distraction from everyday life and the banter that goes on here is massively entertaining, it helps me get through shit days.

Days like yesterday.

It would be quite amusing to me for sure that the two 3-0 blowers would be our division rivals. So there's that.

Rays vs Astros is tough to watch. Or is it? One will get eliminated in this series; the other in the next.

Rays are lucky they've gotten 2 double plays in the first 1 2/3

That ties a record, btw

Ground Zero
He nibbles and throws a ton of pitches. It’s become his issue over the last couple of seasons. With a tight zone ump, it’s a bad combo.

Defense is my favorite part of the game of baseball. But you have to give credit to the pitcher for getting all those ground balls. So even tho he's annoying. Snell ain't bad

Rays/Devil Rays/(remember Sting Rays?) are totally the Dollar Store of MLB. And the unis can't have both a fish and the sun. Fucking pick one.

For me it's the Raiders. The bullshit flag on Sugar Bear Hamilton, Jack Tatum, Al Davis, the whole Mad Max schtick... Vegas is the perfect town for that shithole franchise. And 'The Flame' sucks. So satisfied the greatest dynasty in the Super Bowl era began by beating them upside the head with the rule book.
