Danny Welbeck shitting all over himself is the only reason Brighton didn't take a 1-0 lead in that one.

I'm especially glad Danny Ings's injury wasn't as bad as originally believed- weeks not months

Bruno equalizes. To be honest I didn't think he had a header in his skillset but it was a wonderful one.

United haven't looked bad but Calvert Lewin has been tough to deal with and they are taking advantage of Ole playing Mata on the right, who is too slow to keep up.

I turned it in seconds before the second United goal. Everton look like a pickup team. They’re blowing assignments, misplaying passes, their defensive shape is awful... What the hell happened?

He gets ball then guy, what am I missing? Studs up?
Wicked studs up.

Also, does he make that challenge if Digne is onside? That seems like the obvious consequence of the Pickford/Van Dijk decision. Maguire took a free shot.

If you can, do yourself a favor and watch Ole's post match interview on BT Sport. Its as pissed and emotional as I've ever seen him, and to be fair he has a point.

United played on Wednesday in Turkey and got back at 4am on Thursday morning. The Premier League refused to move their Saturday lunchtime kickoff. With an international break coming, and no fans in attendance, its not a big ask.

Luke Shaw went off with a hamstring injury and Ole said he's going to be out a while. More worryingly, he said Marcus Rashford's shoulder injury doesn't look good but I'm praying its because he wants him to rest during the international break.

Hopefully this can spur the team on.

Nice work by Dann for the goal!

@Zomp wouldn't the PL have to rearrange the whole schedule now to accommodate United if they want to broadcast all the games? It sucks for them, but I kind of get it.

Aren’t the games on Ppv now in England?

also they could have moved the game weeks ago when the champions league schedule came out. Klopphas complained about the same thing

I think they are all PPV - but they're scheduled so that there is only one on at a time. Which likely would have meant moving another game as well. I'm not saying they shouldn't have done that, but it may just be a bit more complicated than normal.

They canceled PPV for the duration of this season.

I think that they all wear them, but it's weird seeing the bros/mannziers beneath Leeds' kits.

And I'll take the goal too. Palace has played very well, but 4-1 doesn't reflect the level of play from Leeds.

Just to confirm, a handful of games have been on PPV in the UK over the past few weeks, with the rest spaced out to air on Sky or BT Sport - but after this weekend, that experiment will end, and the plan is to show every game either on Sky, BT, the BBC or Amazon Prime, just like it after the COVID break in the 2019-20 season.

Insane end to the West Ham-Fulham match.

Soucek scores late to put the Hammers up 1-0, on a goal I was surprised wasn't reviewed due to Haller going for the ball (but not making contact) while clearly offside prior to the ball falling to Soucek. Then, Benrahma tackles Cairney in the area with even less contact than Masuaku on Salah last week, the play is VAR'd and called a penatly - up steps Ademola Lookman taking the ball from Mitrovic to take the penalty, and hits a failed panenka that Fabianski easily saves.

Heartbreak for Fulham

DVRd it and just watched it. Even when Everton were playing well they were leaking goals and winning with attack. With the suspensions and injuries the fluidity is gone and DCL is starved for service. Shape of back four had been a problem all season and today was awful, Bruno walked right between Keane and Holgate twice. Holgate first game back from preseason foot injury and he was terrible. James had a testicle bruised by Van Dijk shortly before the Pickford incident and has been subpar since. Sigurdsson is terrible and should make a nice signing for Inter Miami soon.

Everton’s XI is very good but boy it drops off fast. Good thing we kept Moise Kean (5 goals on loan to PSG )

The starting position of the center backs didn’t look terrible, but they reacted like they couldn’t see or hear each other. The shape issue I called out started in the midfield. The gaps were wrong both vertically and horizontally. They couldn’t have consciously created more space for United to have time between the lines. When a United player got the ball there, it shattered the back line’s cohesion as they were drawn to cover. It was truly awful.

I do not recall ever seeing an Ancelotti team looking that lost or incoherent.

I’d say Vardy’s second penalty was poorly taken, but the bar has been lowered.

City v Liverpool soon and it’s been a while since I’ve been less nervous about this match. The combination of VAR, injury, Covid, and the real world have just drowned out that tension. It probably helps that I think City are in transition so I just don’t have the same expectations and I can’t whine enough about how much VAR has impacted my enjoyment of the sport overall but I’m earnestly surprised at how little I care about this match which has been a title decider the last few years

Funny, I feel the opposite. I keenly remember last time out when Sterling was inspired by personal animus to torture Gomez and without VVD, there is a fundamental instability in the back that hasn’t been solved yet. I’m expecting an open, hard running game that will turn on a couple of key moments.

The matchup on the pitch is interesting enough as Citys attack is fairly benign compared to its heights a few seasons ago but Liverpool losing Van Dijk opens some holes. With both teams at full strength this would be a great match as Dias has restored so much of what Kompany brought to City (so far).

But the absolutely stupid match schedule has made most matches fairly choppy and sloppy. Then the injuries on both teams depriving some of the top level talent.

But really it’s more my remarking on how quickly I’m losing love of the sport. Any other season I’d have watched Spurs this morning while popping over to Juve match. I’d have watched the Leicester v Wolves match as that’s a good even matchup while waiting for lineups for the afternoon. It’s just become such a poor product so quickly.

Pleased they won as a Spurs fan, but the Spurs/West Brom match was a good one to skip of you are worried about a love of the sport fading.

Team news are in for the City/Pool match .. Jesus for City and both Jota and Firmino for Liverpool. This should be fun.

Prediction .. if Pep decides to institute a high press Liverpool will spend the entire game bypassing it with long balls over the top.

Tend to agree with you .. in my case most of the disillusionment is due to VAR which is ruining games. The packed schedule is making things bad as well - and that’s only going to get worse.
