Arsenal have 62% possession, 15 crosses attempted but only 4 shots, and all of those shots are outside the box. Arsenal are getting numbers out wide but at the expense of being outnumbered in the center; Spurs always have numbers to clean up the crosses. Exactly as Mou would have drawn it up.

How wasn't that a backpass by Ceballos?

edit: guess it wasn't off his foot, I assumed anything below knee was backpass... TIL

Arsenal already look more dangerous in the first five minutes here than they did in the entire first half.

That is the Eric Dier effect!

If that’s what he said I agree. I was watching with the sound off and just saw that when Spurs won the ball and started to counter Son didn’t have a red shirt within ten yards of him and no one even looking at him, IMO the ball was a lock for the back of the net as soon as he touched it in all that space, given his pace and form. Joe the he’ll do you forget about him?

Frankly Spurs are not playing all that well. They are giving the ball away too easily and their shape in midfield has not been great (Lo Celso's positioning in particular has been spotty). But at 2-0 up the onus is on Arsenal to punish them.

What's the over/under on how long it takes Xhaka to get booked? 27 minutes?
75 turned out to be the right number, but only because of Martin Atkinson's leniency. Xhaka had two or three fouls in the first half that could have been a yellow.

How did Arteta apprentice under Pep and come to the conclusion that you should just hit a shitload of crosses?

Son and Kane are just otherworldy right now.

Hojberg (I'm not looking up how to spell it) seems to be doing very well in the middle of the park, yes?

I don't even think Arsenal are playing that badly. But they have not adjusted their tactics at all to the game-state. They are building up slowly, keeping the ball wide, generating a few half-chances off crosses. That's an ok strategy at 0-0 against a good counterattack but at 2-0 down they need to do something to get better shots.

I still say they're playing shit. Jose's happy for them to work the ball side to side and throw in a few crosses when they look like a team that never practiced their headers. The lack of adjustment is on Arteta IMO. But if you're a Spurs fan there is a joy to be had in coming over somewhat grudgeful of your own team's performance when you've beat your local rivals at a canter without needing to be at your best.

They basically played similar tactics to Chelsea last week. The difference of course is that Chelsea snuffed out all of Spurs' counters while Spurs scored early against Arsenal.

Jose's quote earlier this week was "You can have all of the ball you want. I will take the 3 points."

That was an amazing play by Mane to stop his kick mid play.

I actually think that’s less dive and more boot avoidance...it sure looked like he was about to get smashed by th overhead kick

California. Duh.
Or against Barcelona.
There's the constant talk that Barca want to sign him, and I get that there's still a mystique about them (as well as different weather, lifestyle, etc) but honestly who would choose Barca over Liverpool at this moment, especially if Messi isn't there next season?

Have we complained about these Wolves kits yet?

Is this the worst kit year in recent memory? Two awful ones on the pitch right now. Across the league there are some serious head scratchers w it h very few memorably standouts (Southampton bucking the trend).

I was happy to see Spurs and the Gunners in their traditional kits together. It’s a great look for a Derby.
