Time for Jomboy to get his own thread

I think a lot of us are familiar with his breakdowns of mainly baseball clips, bit he's also expanded doing many other things

He announced this morning, they are launching a new channel and that Chris Rose (former MLB Network co-host of Intentional Talk, you know that show he did with Kevin Millar for over 10 years) will be doing his own podcast. I'm pretty excited about this

Nice update posted here, along with some history of how he started doing his thing, which I didn't know

Honestly love Jomboy’s breakdowns and he’s a Yankees homer without being over the top obnoxious about it (see Carrabis, J.)

He brings attention to baseball in a good way, and baseball needs more people that make the game feel fun. Hope to see his ventures continue to expand and grow.

I get caught down the YouTube rabbit hole with Jomboy quite a bit. I start trying to find out what happened in a certain game from the night before, and next thing I know, I'm watching him break down a male/female Russian MMA fight.

The breakdowns are consistently great and they do a few videos a week on the Jomboy and Jake Radio YouTube channel where they just watch and comment on old game shows and it's one of the most entertaining things on the Internet (the best were their commentaries on the ridiculous "Baggage" Game Show Network show but sadly GSN made them take all of those down).

I'm not a big enough baseball fan outside the Red Sox to spend the time to listen to their baseball-focused podcasts consistently but I do tune in occasionally when big things happen (like the trade deadline, etc.) and it's consistently very knowledgeable.

I felt badly for these guys when COVID hit, as it seemed like they were just about to hit their stride and then suddenly the floor dropped out. The fact that they are still flourishing is a testament to their hard work and quality content.

Jomboy is my favorite creator on YouTube. His most entertaining breakdowns imo are fun sport Friday. Look up jomboy fun sports and it’s breakdowns of just absurd and random sports and they’re all fucking hilarious

This is me exactly. Discovered him on Twitter and enjoyed his content. Yeah, Carrabis can get a little full of himself too.

One of my favorite ongoing bits is how he acts like everything is El Clásico, like "as you all know Azerbaijan played Turkmenistan in the World Bocce Ball Championship".

The baseball content is great, like many I enjoy the breakdowns, and the breakdowns of other moments in sports are all well done no matter how absurd or odd the sport is.

If you ever have 30 mins to kill, watch Jomboy and Jake Watchin’ (insert show here). They watch episodes of Guts, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Singled Out, 3’s a Crowd, and other game shows. It’s hilarious.

Very random idea, but I'd love to see an MLB team try cutting a deal with YouTube where the team provides the video and allow users to add the audio for a game broadcast. You could set it up on a revenue share so that the team and the users split the ad revenue.

That way, someone like Fangraphs or Jomboy or some random washed up old pro or whoever could all "broadcast" the same game, and I can pick the type of coverage I want.
Responding to myself AND crossing over threads -- I guess this sort of exists if you want to work for it. Watching the Yankees game and listening to the Jomboy live stream. Have to play around with it to get the two aligned, but pretty sweet result. Really wish they were Sox fans instead.
