Olynyk would be an interesting addition. His efficiency is suffering this year but it seems like its a function of being overexposed as he is logging his highest MPG of his career. My only question is whether another contender is more appealing at this stage in his career. The Celtics are unlikely to win this year and he may want a legit shot at a ring, if available, before he signs his next contract.
Olynyk may want those things, if he does then yes he's not choosing Boston.
I just think he's their most likely chance.
If guys are looking for a ring, they're not coming here
If guys are looking for money, they're not coming here
If guys are looking for location, they're not coming here
Their best chance is having a role, and a connection of some kind.
Since Olynyk has been here, and they have a clear role for him as a 4/5 and the only big that can shoot from outside(assuming Kornet would be waived to sign him), he'd have a guaranteed rotation spot.
He's probably more of a backup plan for at least some of the other possible suitors, I'd imagine some of those spots are taken before Olynyk.
Maybe he won't even be bought out, but if he is, I think he's their best shot and fit.
