Except he's six years younger than Brady. I'd do this, and I bet this is where he wants to come.
How much longer does BB want to coach?

I think he'd have a lot more fun winning with Rodgers for three years or so than hoping that he'll find and develop the right young QB solution.

BB built a really nice car this off season. He needs a good driver.
I think he 100 percent wants to go to SF, his childhood team and where he grew up.

I just don't think the Packers want to trade him in the conference.
Why does he want out of GB? Coaching and Front office incompetence.

Where could he go? Only to a place without significant investment at the QB position already either via draft capital or money.

Does that sound familiar?
YES
YES
YES
YES

Make it happen.

The question is, how much draft capital would it take?

He has the best OL in football plus a top 5 WR and a top 5 RB. The defense is at least adequate as well. This is a severe overstatement. They drafted a QB low in the first round, they did the same to Favre and everyone called him an asshole for the way he treated Rodgers and later forced his way out with the retirement shenanigans.
My Packers fan friends think he’s a total prima donna

I didnt say this season.

Up until this season, the packers have had a bottom half of the league defense since 2010. Aaron Jones is the first good running back since fat Eddys one good season. They dont have good TEs or have the ability to build any depth at WR.

And the coaches have always sucked.

I don't think he has the best OL, and RBs are fungible (Aaron Jones somewhere else isn't as good). The defense is terrible, they have only 1 WR, nothing at TE, they've been cheap in FA, drafted terribly, and made tons of decisions that are just baffling (trading up for a QB, drafting a RB early to be the 3rd RB?).

And the Rodgers/Favre thing is pretty different. Favre had hinted he might retire, and didn't commit to playing more than 1 more year until after they drafted Rodgers. Rodgers has been upfront about wanting to play into his 40s and had recently signed a new contract.

Does it? Would the really not even give Love, the drafting of whom basically caused this mess, a single year ?
I'm not sure. They've had Love in the fold for a year -- wonder what they think of him now.

There was reporting earlier today before the Rodgers stuff became public that they were very happy with Jordan Love & how he had practiced last year. It seemed like an odd thing to be putting out there... then the Rodgers stuff happened.

Well then, if this deal is on and GB is getting #9, this would effectively remove a Patriots competitor for the top QBs.

Why does Rodgers want to go to the Broncos? Not a team close to winning and in a killer division.
rodgers wants to go to SF but GB will not trade in the conf vegus only has 1.7 mil of cap room denver has 18 mil and Denver has jax jets nfc east afc north det with rodgers Denver goes from 6-11- 7-10 to 11-6 only KC would be better in the AFC denver returns 9 starters on def and get miller back with Rodgers Denver would be the 3rd best team in the NFL with teddy they are around 14th or so PFF rank denver has haveing the 6th best nfl roster with drew lock at qb

If that's true, yeah, but not 100% sure it's not just a smokescreen. I think if they get a QB back in the deal like Lock or TBridge, then it's quite unlikely.

They took a 1st round QB last year. Would be a heck of a double dip.

There a difference between drafting a developmental guy 26, thinking he won't start for 2 years & throwing him out there after a year if he hasn't actually developed. But only they know how they really feel about him.

I mean, the Cardinals literally drafted Josh Rosen #10 one year, & then Kyler Murray #1 the next.

My brother-in-law here in Chicago just suggested that the best use of the Bears #1 pick is to package it with Rodgers just to get him out of the division.

That makes it seem more reasonable. Good luck to you guys if you get him! I can't say I wouldn't be jealous.

More flights to NorCal from Denver than Green Bay or wherever the closest intl airport is

Yup. But if it does happen, they don't really need him & he would probably make a good bridge guy for Love, & would let Lock back up Rodgers in Denver.

3 1sts + TBridge for Rodgers...? Who knows.

Isn't GB's cap hit 30 million if they trade him now?
Yeah, but his contract is $38m or whatever & they're not signing any big free agents at this point of the off season, so if you're actually going to do it, no point in waiting until June 1st.

ture but teddy is only 3 mil for us and he wanted to be in denver lock makes more sence because if he cant beat out J Love then he was a backup from the get go

I don't think he wanted to come to Denver to back up Aaron Rodgers. He's also only under contract for 1 more year & Lock has 2.

Elway should call Chi, Det, & Min to ask each for a 4th rounder to grease the skids.

Just feels so Bill to end up with Aaron in NE. Not sure how well they would co-exist but christ it's fun to think about. How much would you give up for him?
An insane amount. It would be so sick to watch him play for an actual good coach. He’s a whiny primaDonna and I don’t care, he’s so talented even at 37.

Also this:

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/aaron-rodgers-wont-return-to-packers-under-gm-brian-gutekunst-could-also-hold-out-of-camp-per-report/

Where there's smoke, there's fire, they say. And Green Bay is billowing with it. As the Packers wrap up their 2021 NFL Draft, their star quarterback -- Aaron Rodgers -- appears increasingly ready to call it quits with the team. The reigning MVP is reportedly contemplating retirement as a way of forcing a trade, and team president Mark Murphy has all but confirmed as much by acknowledging the Packers are "very aware" of the "issue" with their longtime signal-caller. Now, Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson reports Rodgers' concern is primarily with general manager Brian Gutekunst, and that the QB is prepared to hold out of training camp this summer.

The reigning league MVP "remains adamant," Robinson writes, "that he won't return to the team under the current stewardship of ... Gutekunst, a source in Rodgers' camp said, and that he's willing to weigh hardline options at his disposal -- from refusing to show up for offseason activities to holding out of training camp and possibly retirement."
What a mess. Rodgers is really firing missiles everywhere. This is fun.

I really wish Rodgers would have the stones to say something publicly. All of this "according to his camp" stuff is weak sauce. Your trade value is not going to drop more at this point by being upfront about how you feel.

Just goes to show you how much uglier it could have been with Brady. All parties really handled his departure from Foxboro remarkably well.

Meh, why? There are reasons you don't publicly demand a trade. And honestly, the first leaks didn't come from him. They came from talk about a trade discussion GB had. The team does the same thing on the other side. This is just how stuff works. Also... he demands a trade he gives up leverage, and he probably eliminates what might be his preferred option..... getting them to fire the GM, after which he might sign an extension. It's pretty clear that for a number of reasons the relationship with the GM is done, and isn't getting fixed....
Not shocking honestly.. it starts with the 2020 draft debacle, and continues to GB allegedly asking him to restructure without any extension after he had an MVP season. Once you do that it's tough to backpedal into an extension. You've already broken an already strained relationship

He very well may be
Still, trading Love doesn't turn back the time when GB decided not to give Rodgers a chance to tie the game on 4th-and-goal vs Tampa last year.

Add the Packers' absolute refusal to grab offensive weapons at the top of the draft & you got an unsolvable situation.

Of course, this is all fun and games until he goes to Denver.
