NFL Draft Rd.2-3: Discussions, Rumors & Spoilers Gamethread

It's a good pick, and I'm happy to use picks to move up - we weren't going to draft 10 guys - but I'd sure like to see a playmaker or two soon. There's good depth at WR, so there's still a chance.

Well one thing for sure is that the NFL evaluators have some significantly different ratings on some players than PFF, PFN, etc.
Some guys it is about system fit. JOK in particular is in free-fall because nobody knows where to play him, Barmore probably had a limited pool too, others like Jenkins apparently have off-field. And a few may be medical, big story last few days was some teams were crossing guys off because they couldn't get the full medical info they wanted.

Their biggest assets left for this draft now are 96, 120, 177. Not sure if they trade up again tonight.

A Celtics classic, where you're not thrilled about their 1st pick, but then they get one of the guys you would have been happy with in the spot you would have been happy to get the 1st guy.

If they had picked Barmore at 15 and Jones at 38 I'd have said it was great.
Thank you for this--I've just made that mental adjustment and it's working.

That sounds like a lot

Is it, board points-wise?
I think the Patriots knew they didn't want to make all those picks, and other teams did too. Hard to really make a great value deal in that situation.

Plenty happy it was within the realm of reasonable and it was used to get a potential 1st rounder that slid.

I wanted Moore like many here, but that wasn't in the cards, and still happy with the pick. Would love to get a WR at 96 though.

It’s a little more, but they had too many picks, and Barmore is a first round talent, so I have zero issue with it.
Exactly this.

They got the best defensive lineman in the draft - a position of need - when he probably shouldn't have been available. A slight overpay from the Hill chart, but you overpay to get a talent like him. Especially when we have too many draft picks.

What's not to like?

Gotta love the Lions fan CLEARLY not knowing who Levi Onwuzurike is starting cheering because he wants to be on TV.

Jenkins go right after NE taking Barmore. It would have been incredibly fun to see him pancake people all day but you can't have 'em all.

Seems like we basically have up our Marcus Cannon equity to move up & take Barmore. I'm in!

I don't want to clutter the Mac Jones thread more than I already have, but 3 seconds of silence for Jake Dolegala, who I really wanted to see in a preseason game.

Man I think BB is crushing this draft so far. I wanted Moore but oh well. Barmore has the potential to be an absolute beast.

Just catching up. Looks like every team is working from SMU’s board.

aggressive by the Bears again, but they are grabbing talent.

I’m worried that Belichick is overly reliant on his friends in the college ranks in recent years...

If the Pats were going to trade Gilmore for a draft pick, about what number pick are we looking at?

probably not worth it for anything below 50 unless he's said he'll hold out
I don't think he has said he'd hold out. Probably unlikely they trade him, but I would like to see them get another pick between now and 96. Lots of good CBs and WRs left.

Bears are having a great draft.... got arguably the QB2, got a OT many had ranked as an easy 1st.... if that team isn't good this year everyone is getting fired and the new coach/GM combo will walk into a nice roster
