Tom Wilson is a product of the violent atmosphere encouraged by today's NHL. It isn't his fault he's strong!!!

Fuck that psychopathic scumbag

In the simulacrum
I assume Lose is joking? Minutes in playoff hockey are a bit like outs in playoff baseball -- waste them at your peril. No gooning it up in the post season. One five minute major can sink a game, and sinking a game in a close series can sink the series.

This is the Bruins best draw but I definitely feel some of the past trauma when thinking about this team. They are big, physical and extremely dirty. Hathaway and Wilson are among the top 5 biggest pieces of shit in the NHL and look to injure opponents literally every game. Luckily only one of them is actually a decent hockey player. Outside of that, this is an old and flawed team. They are great on the power play and the score a lot 5v5 (#2) but they also give up a lot of chances/goals at even strength despite their reputation. They are bottom half in chances against, goals against and save percentage at ES. The bruins ont he other hand are top 5 in chances against, goals against and top half in ES S%.

The Bruins only lost 1 game in regulation to the caps this year, outscored them by 5 at ES (this includes the 8-1 drubbing) and out chanced them significantly. The Bruins are the worst matchup for the Caps in the entire division if you're basing it on regular season play with only Pittsburgh having a legit counterargument.

I'm trying to feel confident since the Bruins were the better team head to head and are also healthier and better now than they were at any time this season and the caps are banged up. The only issue is they have injured a bruins player in every game this year and that can significantly shift a series. Here's hoping Tom Wilson gets hit by a car on the way to the arena.

I understand there is some "Tampa Rule" that says there is no salary cap in the postseason?

Make him B's property.
We're losing our minds here.

It has nothing to do with the salary cap. They literally cannot put this guy on a playoff roster. He's on an AHL contract with Providence and Providence only. Just because he plays for Providence doesn't mean he can be recalled by Boston. He'd have to have been on the Bruins reserve list as of the trade deadline to even be eligible to sign and play in a post season game this year. He wasn't then and isn't now.

Plus, the guy has played all of 10 games above the ECHL. He's a goon. Dressing goons is a thing of the past. They don't deter. Remember when Wilson laughed at Ryan Reaves when Reaves tried to fight him in the Finals? If we need someone to fight Wilson, it's already too late. If something happens that needs to be addressed, Miller or Frederic are capable enough.

You also just can't "make someone Bruins property" by fiat.

It's either tremendously stupid or just flat out unfunny.

Thank you for this informative and rational explanation.

Ok - we've got the "fuck Tom Wilson" shit out of our systems. Let's try to make this thread a little less Game Thready and a little higher quality moving forward please.*

This Caps team is so unlikable that I bet that Chara has his own locker room. There are so many unlikable players, I feel like I should double-check their roster to see if Mike Ribeiro's on it.

Wilson is justifiably the most detestable player on the team -- there's no contest there -- but I know I don't want to see that smug prick TJ Oshie even so much a crack a single smile.

We'll get the full preview in a few days, but FWIW, Dom's model has the Bruins as 64%-36% favorite against Washington.

*We’ve got it out of our systems until the first dirty-looking hit he lays out*

Seriously though, he can’t be that stupid to goon up a playoff game. I like this matchup for the B’s as long as Rask is on his game.
