Not to be argumentative, but I kind of thought I asked for two earlier than several of these others...
You are 100% right. I completely missed that - sorry about that.

If one of the others doesn't want their second slot, it's yours. Otherwise, you are welcome to take my slot, or I can ensure you get two in another break.

If I was the last man in and took Dean's spot, I'll give up my second spot if need be.
I appreciate the offer, but I don't want anyone giving up a second slot that they want to make up for the mistake. I'm happy to just run the break this time around. I'm going to put Dean in my slot, and we'll go from there.

Totally your call bud. No sweat from me either way.

Yeah me too. I’d much rather give up the 2nd than to have PE not have a slot. No worries at all.

I can take one this time and be two next.

Seeing that everyone glossed over my attempt at the first pick of the draft....

Yes, I glossed straight over that one for sure! Anyway, that seems more than reasonable, so thanks Dean. (And please remind me when we're setting up the next one and I'll sign you up for two right from the start).

Who would you take at 1??? Or would you rather not divulge?? I am unsure, lots of good choices and I suppose it depends on who's auto I want to hope for the most. Going over the list I am excited for just about any team.

Angels seem like the obvious choice to me since the biggest pulls in the set are Trout die cut cards.

I was leaning Angels too, but I love SD, TOR, ATL and even SEA for the Griffey / Ichiro autos. Really lots of cool cards in this set it seems so I think we'll all have a shot at something.

Mike, sent payment for 2 via PP.

Not sure when the draft is planned, but if for some reason, I can't make it, can I send you a list of the teams 1-30 or whatever in the order I would want and you can work from that when my spots come up?

Absolutely. We'll start drafting once all have paid and I do the random.

Feel free to send me your draft list. Either PM or mike@mikemedeiros.com

Paid. Also, I still haven't gotten my cards from the last time. Should I have?
You should have, but I just checked the tracking and it says, "In transit, arriving late." I'll send you a PM with the tracking info, and we can look into it from there.

Alright - fully paid. Thank you all!

I'll plan to run the random sometime this afternoon or evening (just have to remember how to set up the stream/record).

It'll be similar to last time:
I'll randomize the list of slots from post #2 three times using random.org. I'll do this live and link to the recording here. The output of the third random will be our draft order, which I will post in post #2 for reference.

Once it's posted, the draft will start in this thread. Please go in order, otherwise your host will get confused. Discussion in between picks is fine, but it will be super helpful if you post your picks something like this:
PortageeExpress takes the Cleveland Indians with pick #1

There's no draft clock, but this will be more fun if we keep things moving. I'm not going to nag anybody over the weekend, but I'll start tagging people/sending PMs on Monday if we get hung up. I'd like to break on Friday, June 18 or Saturday, June 19 if we can get the draft done before then.

If you want to send me draft list in order at any point, email mike@mikemedeiros.com or PM me here.

If you want me to text you when it's your turn, send me your number.

If there are questions, let me know.

Okay, draft is live. Draft order is in post #2, and I'll keep that post updated with the teams that are taken.
@Deathofthebambino has the #1 pick, and drafting can start whenever he's ready

Let me know if there are questions.

Before we go too far down the draft order, my preference is to treat any Expos card as belonging to the Nationals (there's a possibility of a Vlad Sr. auto).

There are a handful of other retired players that may cause some confusion (I haven't seen these cards in the wild):
Rickey Henderson
Wade Boggs
Eck
etc.

Cards will be assigned to the team listed on the card. If no team is printed on the card, we'll go with the cap/uniform the player is wearing. If there no name/uniform (unlikely), the team is determined by the hat they are wearing on the HOF plaque. If there still isn't a clear answer, it goes to the team the player played the most games with.

I have a question - if we pick a team, do we only get to those cards from that team? I understand if someone drafts a team, they are looking for specific players from that team. Sorry, I'm not sure how the process works.

On one of the card lists I saw, Expo Vlad was listed in the Nationals pile... so probably the right way to go.

Yes, that's how it works--you get every card for every player belonging to the team you draft. So there's luck of the draw in the draft order but also the mix of cards in this particular 8 boxes. You might get nothing but worthless commons, a big hit, or a couple of smaller hits that pay your entry fee if you throw them on EBay. Portagee takes special care of the hits during the break and packages all of your cards with loving tenderness before sending them off.
