What terrible news for this young man. It is the same disease that Mario Lemeuix had, and usually the “better” version of lymphoma. Hopefully Ivan’s life and career will follow a similar arc from a health and ability to play hockey standpoint that Mario’s did.
Every cancer is different but my brother was diagnosed with stage 3 hodgkins lymphoma when he was 32. It has a very high cure rate and and it doesn't often come back, but this kid won't be himself again under the best of circumstances for about 2 years. God speed to him. The treatment sucks but hopefully he will be ok.What terrible news for this young man. It is the same disease that Mario Lemeuix had, and usually the “better” version of lymphoma. I saw reports yesterday that Fleury didn't want to be traded, and that the TOR GM stated he was fine with his current goaltending situation.Habs beat Edmonton, 5-2. They’re 7-4 since St. Louis took over, and he started with a three-game losing streak. Their tank must’ve been Russian.
Toronto loses another back-and-forth one, 6-4. They really have to make a move for Fleury, ‘cause Campbell/Mrazek have been god awful in 2022 and going against a team like Tampa or Florida, they’ll get just throttled in an all-in year.
Agreed. No idea what he was thinking there. That’s should have been a penalty on Broberg. He’s supposed to play the puck there.
Meanwhile the Coyotes have scored 17 goals in their last two games. Going through their game log, they're giving the Leafs a run for their money in terms of total goals per game.It feels like every Leafs game is 6-4.
I guess playing one man short works well for the Coyotes?Kessel is working on an iron man streak. He’s not far behind Keith Yandle who just set the all time record for consecutive games played. Tonight, Kessel got the start, played 30 seconds, and departed to be with his wife for the birth of their child.
Legend. I hope he had a hot dog on the plane.

When you trade a high first round pick for an objectively bad player, you gotta double down and lock him in long term.
Holy shit. LOL
4-1 Coyotes after 2 tonight.Meanwhile, up north, Jack Campbell is out for a minimum of two weeks. Helenic flu?

One of them was an absolute doozy, too.4-1 Coyotes after 2 tonight.
21 goals for Arizona in their last 8 periods.
Glad someone is saying it. NHL refs and DOPS/discipline have massive cognitive bias issues, to say the least.oh boy...
Gabe is not wrong here, but it's pretty rich coming from a guy on the Avs. He's not wrong that the refs call things inconsistently and some teams/players get treated unfairly. Where its funny is the Avs are the second ranked team in the NHL for PIM taken by opponents and have the second lowest % of PIM taken in the games they've played this year in the NHL. You can say that's bc they are possession beasts but so are Carolina and the Bruins. Interestingly, they are 1 and 3 in that category and they both have the puck all the time. So, he's right in saying the league is inconsistent and certain teams get a disproportionate benefit of that inconsistency. What he doesn't realize is his team is one of the biggest beneficiaries of that inconsistency in hockey.oh boy...

Gabriel Landeskog started his postgame with an opening statement. "In 11 years I've never sat and talked about referees in a press conference..." The rest of his comments:
Not the best night for goalies. One of them was an absolute doozy, too.

LOVE the Leafs fan apologists claiming Dahlin did something dirty (he didn’t) or that cross-checking a guy in the head is a nothingburger.
And of course whether he has to miss a couple of games between now and then. That's probably a safe bet, but it depends on other things like Toews' family schedule and if they can attend.
True! With his health that's always a concern! I think I counted wrong, so 4/3 would be game 1002, so a little wiggle room on missed games/rest daysAnd of course whether he has to miss a couple of games between now and then.
