Maybe there's something there with Pasta if Pasta refused to sign here but for some reason was OK with Calgary.
That's about all I've got.
That's about all I've got.
Honestly? I would probably consider Tkachuk for Pasta straight up if they were both willing to agree to sign extensions with the new teams.Maybe there's something there with Pasta if Pasta refused to sign here but for some reason was OK with Calgary.
That's about all I've got.
Dom has Lysell and Lohrei as 1A and 1B and says he'd listen to an argument than Lohrei is better than Lysell.Yeah, we may rate kids like Lohrei, Merkulov, and Harrison, but not many people that get paid to write about these things do. For them, the Bruins prospect pool is Lysell and a whole lot of moths, which means that any realistic trade for Tkachuk is probably way too rich for Boston.
I do wonder what this does for the Flames, though. How much longer does Darryl Sutter stick around? What do they do with Mangiapane and Kylington? Can they unfuck Monahan and salvage something from this past week?
Even if that was accepted by Calgary there’s zero way to sign him here under the cap. He's a perfect target for the Bruins. 24, big, good defensively, kind of a shit stain. They just don't have close to a package that will get him.

Lysell

That's probably the best package they could offer and it won't sniff the best offer they get, I don't think. It all depends on where Matt would sign long term. You gotta think St Louis offers Kyrou ++ to bring the home town kid home, right?
Sure, there is a way. Trade Pastrnak, if he's not going to re-sign. You can't have them both, though.Even if that was accepted by Calgary there’s zero way to sign him here under the cap.
I can’t wait to see what going the other way.Florida wins the Matthew Tkachuk Sweepstakes

Totally agreed they are in GFIN, but not having a 1st round pick until 2026 puts them at a pretty significant disadvantage at the trade deadline when you know what you need to GFIN. Will be interesting to see what they do.Also, if you’re Bill Zito, you’re officially in GFIN mode. No 1sts until 2026.

No buyout window right? They could get most of the way there if available.I’m not sure how FLA gets under the cap. Hornqvist’s $5.3 million seems to be the obvious candidate but they don’t have much left in terms of sweeteners. If teams wanted a 1st for JVR, I can’t imagine they’d accept less for Hornqvist.
No, they don‘t have anyone in arb.No buyout window right? They could get most of the way there if available.
They also will have three statues now as Gretzky and Luc Robitaille also have one.The Kings are retiring Dustin Brown's number on February 11th. Which is fine, he was a long time captain and took them to two Cup Championships.
But they are also putting up a statue for him, which seems..... I don't know, overkill might be the right word for it. Am I wrong?
<cue Sesame Street music>They also will have three statues now as Gretzky and Luc Robitaille also have one.
He's the first (and only) captain in franchise history to win a Stanley Cup for them. I think it's reasonable. The Kings are retiring Dustin Brown's number on February 11th. Which is fine, he was a long time captain and took them to two Cup Championships.
But they are also putting up a statue for him, which seems..... I don't know, overkill might be the right word for it. Am I wrong?
Does this mean Marcel Dionne does NOT have a statue? That’s a little crazy, if so.They also will have three statues now as Gretzky and Luc Robitaille also have one.
Oh. I smell a terrific amount of recency bias in this Kings pantheon. He was the cornerstone of that franchise seemingly for eons.It appears Dionne is part of a "Kings greatest moments" monument outside Staples Center, so he sort of has one.
Yes. That was unveiled as part of the kings 50th anniversary celebrationIt appears Dionne is part of a "Kings greatest moments" monument outside Staples Center, so he sort of has one.
Yah. Plus he spent his entire career with the team. Its perfectly reasonable. He's the first (and only) captain in franchise history to win a Stanley Cup for them. I think it's reasonable.
It goes into some detail, with a big gap at draft/ development and roster building, but it’s an interesting read. The Boston Bruins have one of the best teams in the league every year. Every year! And yet, every year the fan base screams that it’s not good enough. Fair enough for Title Town, but from an outside perspective the standards set for Boston sports always seem a little funny. On average, fans rate their own team 0.4 points higher than the public does. Bruins fans have rated their own team 0.6 points worse than the public — by far the worst of any team. Only four other teams are negative with the next worst, Philadelphia, at minus-0.2 points.
Apparently, the kid is very close to his family in France, and a couple of them died recently.During the past year, I have experienced some personal issues and challenges and I feel I need to be close to my family at this time. I have love and respect for the city of Columbus, the Blue Jackets, and the fans as everyone has always treated me first-class. I truly appreciate the support, help and empathy I have received from team management, the coaching staff, doctors, trainers and my teammates. This was a hard decision, but it is the best one for me right now.
Hey when you can lock up one of the worst defensive players in hockey when he gets most of his points on the power play for $8m a year until he's 35 yo, you gotta do it. I'm happy he's not an option. I wonder what this means about Horvat (or Petterson). I guess they plan to play Miller on the wing long term.JT Miller signed for 7 years, $56M with the Canucks, so my dream of him being 3C for the Bruins is out the window.
They look as dumb as I thought that they were going to look, but I can't rage against this machine anymore. It's happening in all leagues and you it's almost impossible to fight owner's greed. I'm actually more shocked that the NFL hasn't done this yet, I thought for sure they'd be the first one to break the seal.
