For the first time in league history, an LCS will not have a division winner in it. (This is the first year this could have happened, of course.)

This will be a FOX/FS1 series.

Kind of hoping Game 5 gets rained out or goes 18 innings

1:35 Wednesday local time is kind of brutal

Ah that's why the 2:37, I didn't notice.

Corners had to be cut due to the lockout to get the season finished before bleeding too deep into November. You'll notice NYY-CLE has game 5 with no day off too.

Phillies vs Padres, the NLCS everyone predicted.

This should be fun, nice to see some new blood and I've always had a soft spot for the Padres since I lived next door to Qualcomm Stadium and would walk over and see a game every so often. However, fuck Manny Machado. So go Phillies I guess?

The Padres have twice gone to the WS and both times were against teams who were arguably historically great. I don’t have a point here, I just think it’s interesting.

I was just thinking about how much fun it is to watch Darvish pitch…and then. Well, he’s still fun to watch. Hopefully he keeps it together here.

On Soto's strikeout, umps never call that when the catcher moves his glove that much.
That was pure makeup. Ump knew he blew the fair/foul call on the dribble; anything close would be a strike

What's crazy is that up until this game, the Phillies have gotten virtually nothing from Schwarber offensively in the postseason. And they've still hit like crazy.

Wheeler getting the calls. When you are dealing, it’s one of the benefits.

That high strike was generous, but the ump has been giving both starters the lower left part of the plate all game. I'd have to see it again but I feel like even the Soto make-up call wasn't too far off the Realmuto K looking.

Depressing for Padres fans. Tomorrow you get Nola, who can be as good as Wheeler. OTOH, they're probably talking surfing, home upgrades, etc. in the stands. Well, maybe not during the first inning, but from the second inning on.

Seems like they easily could have left him in until someone got on base. On the other hand I suppose you don’t want to throw your reliever into things with the tying run at the plate.
