It’s my favorite non-new park. Saw Pedro there in 2002 with a $21.50 field box seat. Convenient driving from JeffC/Columbia/STL/Des Moines/Joplin/NWAR (and XC) and cheap hotels on I-70
I like the fountains. Affordable to go to. Good parking (other than a rare conflict with September Chiefs home game on Sunday or Monday or Thursday)

this seems like a cash grab. Yes there’s no entertainment/restaurant district walking distance but neither does the Toilet and some other parks. You can eat before and after in better restaurants than what this would have.

this should be all private money if they want to do it but it’s not
It’s a shame

We went to a game there in our cross country drive this summer. It isn’t far from town, lots of parking, and great sight lines with plenty of concessions and good views as you walk around the stadium.
It's a great stadium! I'd be sad to see them leave Kauffman, but I also bet they want to make their new stadium in downtown as good as possible.

It would have been nice to see the Red Sox in on that one to fill the power hitting right handed outfielder role.

How soon are Kelenic and Kyle Lewis getting moved?
I don’t like this trade for either team.
is Toronto worried they’re not going to be able to compete with the Orioles?
or are they waiting to upgrade to a better and more expensive OF?

What is the Red Sox equivalent of Erik Swanson and Adam Macko?

EDIT: Looks like Mack was the M's 8th ranked prospect and Swanson was a very good reliever this year with 3 years of control left (11.7 K/9, 1.7 BB/9, 0.5 HR/9). Seems like a nice return for one year of Teoscar, especially if the Jays can just replace him with Conforto.

If the Rays have taught us anything, it's that turning one or two somewhat expensive years of a guy into multiple/many cheap years of more than one guy is really good bet.

Looks like a win-win from where I sit. Toronto needs relief and hasn’t lacked for offense; Seattle has been able to develop relievers pretty well (not that you’d know if you only watched the playoffs) but has a shallow lineup.

To the question above, Kelenic is probably still the starting LF and Kyle Lewis is toast, so neither is likely to get moved. Could always change, of course!

Two years of Teoscar. He's not a FA until after 2024.

That's right. The Baseball Reference "earliest free agent" is the beginning of the year, not the end of the year.

That always confuses me, I can never remember so I always end up looking on Cot's.

Macko has a big arm but control issues, struck out 148 guys in 98 career innings in the minors, with 53 walks.

MLB "investigating" mets/MFY ownership over collusion re:Aaron Judge in potential violation of the CBA.
Chance of meaningful punishment: 0%

That Andy Martino article that sparked the investigation is strange but dunno about collusion, it's always a tricky area trying to mollify a hungry/greedy fan base and not raise their expectations too high while not trying to talk specifics. But it's not like Martino has Yankee officials there saying they won't bid on DeGrom or Nimmo, seems worth looking into but will probably end up in telling the Mets office not to do that again.

Jose Offerman SS cracks me up
Kenny Lofton moving Puckett to RF who moves Manny (and Junior) to the bench does the opposite

All three Cleveland outfielders were on that All-Star team, two of them starting. Cleveland has had three All-Star outfielders in the past 20 years (Michael Brantley 3x, Grady Sizemore 3x, Matt Lawton).

Seven starters on the AL team are in the Hall of Fame! Lofton might be eight one day. Only three AL reserves in Cooperstown. For the NL, three starters and two reserves. Add another if the Crime Dog gets the call this winter.

That AL team was stacked. KGJ didn't start?

2 more AL reserved with HoF stats who would be in were it not for juice/juice masking agent

and another OF who was arguably one of the most underrated players recent history (Edmonds)
