Utah’s secondary is getting absolutely torched on every play now.
Towards the end of the game I worried Utah’s backup QB was gonna get severely injured. Whittingham played to the last whistle, don’t expect any less in the Rose Bowl, but not sure his team was capable at that point. They looked so lost without Rising.

USC vs LSU would have been more fun than what we got.
Well, this was wildly inaccurate.

This kind of annoying Trojan arrogance was really not on display in the stadium yesterday. They seemed to understand that even though this was a disappointing destination for SC fans, this meant everything to us. It was a really good vibe.

Ummmm... what?! How would LSU been more 'fun'?
It wouldn't, LSU doesn't have anyone as exciting as TyJae Spears.

Fuck yea!

This was as conflicted as I have ever been at a sporting event. Several SC alums in my family, grew up rooting for USC football, but I went to Tulane. Yesterday was the first time I've ever rooted against the Trojans. Well, except for spitefully wanting more ammo to get Clay Helton fired.

That is the most exciting and improbable event I have ever attended in person. We have been a failure at football for 85 years. Beating the (2nd, 3rd?) most historic football program in college football in a major bowl game is just not something I thought I would ever see. There were multiple people crying around me at the end, this was just not something any of us thought we would ever happen. This is miles better than the 1998 season for Tulane supporters.

Watching Caleb Williams live is incredible. He had 3 or 4 plays where everyone around me was just shocked prior to being disappointed. The pass to Rice at the 2 yard line against his body was one of the best throws I have ever seen. After the last TD with just under 5 minutes left, the students behind us were rationalizing that there was "no shame, we just lost to the best QB ever."

Then the craziness happened.

It is AWESOME you were there. I was at the 98 Liberty Bowl when we beat BYU—froze my ass off. But you are right, this season was far more satisfying. And that Cotton Bowl crowd was off the friggin hook!
