United would rather play a left back at center back than play Maquire. Surely he knows his United time is up.

I feel so dirty rooting for ManU. I either want ManU to win or for Haaland to just go nuts and score 7 because he's so much fun to watch.

City have been in just wretched form and this match not much different. It’s all way way way too slow and everyone who is smart enough to defend in numbers and let the CBs pass between themselves has all kinds of joy on the counter.

KDB way out of form and he’s basically been the straw all season so it’s really slow and ponderous. We really miss Laporte and Dias/Stones but so many fitness issues and nobody to really break the lines from the back.

Displaced
Sounds like Rashford is done for the day with a groin injury—per BBC radio.

Edit: and now back in, but “clearly bothered”—again, per BBC radio.

These last two weeks are the worst I’ve seen City under Guardiola. So slow and sloppy compared to their usual play.

Credit to United though for executing a great game plan, Rashford just hasn’t finished.

Utd keep winning the ball back on the right touch line but can’t get the ball off the line.

Fair play to Pep. Takes off Foden, for Grealish, who promptly scores with City's first shot on target.

Current possession stats are 28:72.

Not that it's the be all and end all, but this doesn't feel like a 'big derby' match. It's been a a bit mute, not all that intense, or is it just me?

I have no idea what the ruling should be there but I’m certain we’ll be talking about it all week. As a neutral, I think he’s part of the play and it should be off.

Absolute howler from the referees and VAR. Not touching the ball doesn’t matter. He has to be defended, making him active in the play. Absolute bullshit,

Ex Ref Peter Walton saying on BT Sport: Rashford didn't touch the ball, or impede an opposing player form touching the ball.

I dunno anymore.

Edit: 2-1 Utd, who saw this coming a few minutes ago.

We’re going to get a week of PMGOL telling us how everybody else in the world interpreted the rule incorrectly.

I wish Citeh had a goal chalked off for an offside player not in De Gea’s eyeline. That would have been a wonderful bow.

The only way I can see it not being off in terms of him not impeding defenders is that City’s defenders were running back.. if Rashford wasn’t there they still wouldn’t have caught up to the ball and Bruno still would have scored.. still seems like Rashford was over the ball though.. VAR did confirm that there was no clear and obvious error according to Rebecca.

its remarkable.

you have to wonder- are they better with Haaland? It’s ludicrous to think otherwise, right, but looking at their attempts to level in stoppage time, it was not the fluid attack I expect from City, looked more like “look for the cross to Hasland” at the exclusion of anything else

if nothing else the keeper changes positioning

We all know that if it’s Ings or Mbuemo or Che Adams on that exact same spot at Old Trafford they don’t get that call
