The entire culture/M.O. of the officiating is ass backwards. It should be when in doubt, leave the flag in your pocket. It’s the opposite now. And it’s completely polluting the sport, and ruining big game after big game. They need a sea change in philosophy, but because they are so wildly popular, and so many people(raises hand) are addicted to their product, there is no incentive to change a thing.

Andy Reid is an offensive genius. If he did decide to retire, it would be a heck of a way to go out. I mean if BB didn't exist, Reid would maybe be the best current coach in the NFL.
BB is the all-time GOAT, no question

But currently, I may take Reid anyway

I only watch baseball and football. Now, I hate umpires too but I find myself feeling like they are purposefully deciding the outcome of games far less than I do with NFL refs. I think they’re just incompetent 9 out of 10 times. In comparison, it’s hard not to feel like the zebras are choosing who wins and loses.

I’ll take some shit for this, but tonight on more than one occasion I couldn’t help but wonder if the NFL’s jumped the shark a bit.

The production is so over-the-top and cheesy it’s hard to want to watch anything outside of the 60 minutes of football. And then even then, there seems to be an increasing frequency of late, game-changing flags in huge games, that makes everything that came before it seem irrelevant.

Maybe it’s just because the Patriots are, at best, mediocre, but the NFL is becoming harder and harder to want to watch.

Exactly, there needs to be a presumption against penalties. They do this for offensive holding and I’m fine with that, but it needs to be consistent on both sides of the ball. An OL can consistently mail defenders, but a light brush of a hand on a WR’s back draws a foul, it doesn’t really make sense.

Not from me. It’s how I feel right now. I had no rooting interest in the game and felt like I was robbed.

I will say. Horrible horrible call. But, it’s not like the chiefs were losing the game at that point either.

Eagles would have had a real chance, especially to tie the game, but it wasn’t a clear steal from the eagles either.
It was absolutely a clear steal of their opportunity to respond. Not having it literally handed the game to the Chiefs.

They had reset the game clock to 6 seconds prior to the last play. Is it crazy to think they would have been better off trying to get a chunk of yards and then going for a long FG? If that is the extent of what Hurts can muster on a Hail Mary, hard not to think a 20-25 yard out would have been a better play, especially since the defense was not set up to defend it.

Is it true the timeout in the 3rd Quarter was the first time the Eagles offense called a timeout to save a delay of game all season? Why did Sirianni change his philosophy in the biggest game?
