Realistically, the best we could hope for.8 years/$90 million is an absolute steal for David Pastrnak.
I dont think that they have any draft picks until 2029.Just keep Donny away from the draft. That’s all I ask. He’s not a SP, but he’s damn good as a RP.
I mean, I think it is in the top-ten in NHL history, no?I think that this is the most guaranteed money that the Bruins have ever given to one player. He’s worth every nickel of it.
I believe so. It’s good to see them step up and pay a truly elite player elite money. Many organizations across sports don’t.I mean, I think it is in the top-ten in NHL history, no?
You (not you personally)have to think this was never a real threat to not happen, right? Still, what a relief!I believe so. It’s good to see them step up and pay a truly elite player elite money. Many organizations across sports don’t.
How long can Sweeney convince Bergeron and Krecji to take undermarket deals? Because there is a chance for the Bruins to enter that Brady/Pats zone for a few years where the top player(s) lower salary allows for building better teams around them. And that is some magic sauce when it happens.Donnie is taking no prisoners.
Added to that, for the next two seasons after this, they also have Carlo, and Marchand, who aren’t nothing.Pasta, Charlie, Lindholm, Zacha, Swaymark.
The team is going to compete for years to come. They’ll also add some key pieces when they free up money. Was worried about a rebuild but with that core you’re really looking at a retool. If Lysell can reach his potential they’re going to be sitting pretty (all things considered) for the near future.
Forgot about DeBrusk. He’s been one of my favorite bruins to watch since he joined the team. Love how he goes into the corners. Really happy they didn’t get rid of him.Added to that, for the next two seasons after this, they also have Carlo, and Marchand, who aren’t nothing.
Next year, you start with a team that’s a lot in place, even without depending on Bergeron/Krejci.
Pastarnak/Marchand/Zacha/Coyle/Hall
Debrusk/Greer/Frederic (rfa)
McAvoy/Lindholm/Carlo/Grzelcyk/Forbort/Zboril
To me it’s not even about the money. Can’t imagine they’ll play elsewhere for more. If they want to play hockey I think they’d return. They both seem like mature family men though, so I’d guess their desires to be with their families would have more of an impact than what the Bruins could pay them. How long can Sweeney convince Bergeron and Krecji to take undermarket deals? What a change a year makes- I was convinced there was an ugly rebuild on the horizon but they are in such a better situation than I could have wished for.
