Jaylen Brown isn’t in the top 50 of things you can complain about with the Celtics in this game
This.

It's fucking insane. He's played 93 minutes in 2 nights. If it weren't for his super human effort tonight on the back to back, Grant isn't a position to gag 2 free throws with .8 seconds left for the win.

The plain truth is they are just soft. They don’t respond to getting smacked and it lingers for 2-3 games. Plenty of time to fix themselves, but it’s clear teams don’t fear them.

Its unbelievable. Grant is a good free throw shooter too. Just completely pissed down his leg
I think it's more forgivable if he's Derrick White. In fact I think most of us would feel bad, but Grant talks so much shit.

This thread is off the rails. These guys have pianos on their backs right now. Yeah Grant missed his fts but this game has been one hell of a gritty effort. No shame in coming up short if that’s what happens.
There’s a lot of shame when you consider the three game losing streak they’ll have now. Muscala was an absolute stiff tonight. Grant should have to clean all his teammates’ cars. Marcus has been invisible on offense. Absolutely disgraceful even when you account for the scratches tonight.

Yeah, maybe we are watching different games? Smart is throwing the ball directly to Cavs and can’t hit the broad side of a barn…Grant Williams epically choked….Mike Muscala looks like he was picked up from the local Y to play..but yeah, the guy with the triple double is definitely the issue

They're missing 3 starters, including an MVP candidate, playing on the road, after a double overtime game 24 hours ago.

Soft is the last thing I would use to describe the effort tonight. Frankly, if they lost by 20, I wouldn't have given a shit, because they should have, all things considered.

Lame.

Get rest, get roleplayers like Tatum, Horford and Williams back and see if they can make the play-in after they hire another interim coach!

you probably can't play Brown 44 mins on a back-to-back after a 47-minute game

Hauser at 7 minutes
Grant at 15 minutes

Bad coach. He just isn't ready. I know it was an impossible situation but they had to hire a coach with experience when Ime got chucked.

This. They were nails tonight given the circumstances. On the road. Against a very good team. The soft shit is embarrassing.

It's not just this game though. Something's broken with this team. They've been very mediocre for a while now.

I know it gets overlooked now . But the 2 free throws the cavs got to tie the game at the end of regulation were laughable. A complete joke.

It’s tough to be too upset losing this game with the circumstances coming in…but it’s also tough to miss 2 GW free throws if you’re even a mediocre free throw shooter. So I am conflicted as to how I should feel

But I think the "tough" view would be that they gutted out a win despite all that. It's not like they lost an epic duel in the OT game last night...they let that one get away after blowing a 28-point lead the previous game. They didn't "respond" despite the challenge they created for themselves.

I'm all about taking things in perspective but this is a bad stretch. Happens to everyone but it is what it is.

I honestly had already completely forgotten about this and you’re 100% right. But I think it’s also fair to complain about the call that Grant got (if you’re a Cavs fan). There was definitely more contact on Grant but they normally don’t call that foul in that situation

Muscala: 1 for 5 on 3-pointers, which are supposed to be his specialty. Just brutal.

They're not getting the 1 seed, so who the hell cares about this shitfest... but now the 2 seed feels at risk until they can show they can hold a lead for a game.

I think you saw tonight how much Brogdon means to this team. Him missing the last few was huge, and if they have him last night, they probably roll. Then they come back tonight without Horford or Tatum, get destroyed on the defensive glass down the stretch as a result of tired legs, etc.

They got out to a lead tonight because they were running the ball up and down the court like maniacs, which takes Cleveland, a team that doesn't like pace, out of their game. They just couldn't sustain it, and if not for a joke of a call giving Mitchell 2 free throws, and 2 missed by Grant to win, the C's walk away with a win, and nobody says a word about their softness.
