Between here and everywhere.
This is a "dicks on tables" game.

Bruins need to go into the shithole state of Florida, throw their dicks on the table, and remind the Panthers that if not for Pittsburgh choking more than Adriana Chechik they wouldn't even be in the playoffs.

Do do the Panthers what many, MANY men have done to the lovely Ms. Chechik. Choke them out.

I’m 41 today. With as frequently as the Bruins have been in the playoffs in my adult life, I get lucky to have a birthday game more often than spring babies have any right to. But one stands out: April 21, 2011. Boston at Montreal, Game 4. Bruins down 2-1, and had to survive a furious comeback on the 18th to keep from going down 3-0.

Florida wishes it was that Habs team.

Make ‘em pay.

Most wins and points in NHL history.
But remove a geriatric center and give some guys the sniffles and suddenly they can't handle an 8 seed that needed another team to choke just to make the playoffs.

Biggest frauds since 2004.

Yeah, it sucks that the series ended so quickly.

I can’t actually imagine Monty rolls with them during the game. I feel like this is a way to shake up the team during practice, maybe give them some different looks, and then we’re back to what we’ve been doing since game 1.

I hope I’m wrong though.

I feel like the whole Bergeron situation has been the standard playoff information warfare tactics. I doubt we see him this series, but I'm always down to be pleasantly surprised.

Anyhow, new game thread starter, new PFP. LFG.

I was worried about the thread starter situation creating bad juju, but I feel like the lurker sacrifice more than compensates. LFG.

I'm actually wondering if he is done for the year, that video of him at practice yesterday was not very reassuring. He looked like he was laboring with just light cone drills.

Of course we have no idea how long he’d been skating at that point.

I think he’ll play Game 5 if it’s tied or worse.

If you told me we would split these next 2 and Bergy comes back 90% effective Game 5, I’d take that 100 out of 100. The NHL Playoffs are no joke, just survive and advance, baby.

Just win one in Florida, reclaim home ice, win it in seven games, fine, whatever. Just get it done.

Reclaim home ice?
first they don’t really have home ice, it’s probably going to be 1/2 filled with New Englanders/New YorkersNew Joiseys
Second, they probably have a better ice surface since they don’t share it with an NBA team

I don't think it matters that much what they start the game with. Monty will shake things up mid-game if need be.

This game comes down to two things for me.
1. Bury the opportunities when you have the chance to do so. A lot of 2 on 1's or other odd man rushes have been wasted along with point blank opportunities in scoring zones(looking at you from Game 2, Pasta). Florida took advantage in Game 2 and we did not.

2. Value the puck more in the defensive end. They were way too careless with their breakouts and it resulted in point blank opportunities for Florida. Don't get too cute with the passes. Get the puck out of the zone and advance up the ice.

Do these two things and there's a good chance the Bruins win.

If Ullmark is hurt/laboring/banged up, go with Swayman.

It's days like this that reinforce why I love sports so much, been stressed all day long as game time gets closer.

Get up early on this team, put pressure on them, don't turn the puck over and put pucks on the net, keep shooting and pressuring their defense and goalie.

The Bruins are clearly the better team; go the fuck out there tonight and play like it.

I like those forward lines. Basically either Marchand or Pastrnak is seeing 3rd lines & d pairs all night.
With FLA at home with last change? They'll mix and match to get the matchups they want. That said, I like the practice lines. Although I will say with all the talent we have it's hard not to like most setups. Like, if they put Pasta out there with Krejci and Hall, I'm cool with that. JDB with Marshy and Coyle? Sure!

I feel like the whole Bergeron situation has been the standard playoff information warfare tactics. I doubt we see him this series, but I'm always down to be pleasantly surprised.

Guessing at anything re Patrice is just that. He might be back for G4, or not ready for another 2 weeks. I'm not going to pretend like I know. But skating has to mean that he's not done for the year. Right?!??

Just win one in Florida, reclaim home ice, win it in seven games, fine, whatever. Just get it done.
This. Survive and advance. I don't need to remind anyone here (but I'm obviously going to do so anyway), but during the cup run they went 7 against the Habs (won G7 in OT), then swept the Flyers in the next round. Playoff hockey is super matchup-specific.

Can someone remind me how Bergy looked in Montreal? Was he moving fine then (I know it was a short night for him)? Basically I just want to know how annoyed I am supposed to be that he played in that game.

He played 5:36 in the first period. A lot of that was power play time. Nothing really stood out. If it’s a back though, that could happen at any time. He could have tweaked it at practice afterwards, or in the weight room.

If they can complete passes and not fumble the puck around when they’re carrying it tonight, I like their chances. That game the other night was 100% on just coughing up the puck on what seemed like unforced errors.

With the caveat that I don’t know the unreported extent of injury/sickness, they were cruising into the end of the season. Why not just sub Krecji for Bergeron and pick ‘em between Lauko and Greer and go from there? Why disrupt so much else, when the lack of cohesion and continuity seem to be the main problems right now?

It was one loss. Just unwind the complications and don’t overcoach.
