Refs successfully challenged their own non-call.Theyt 100% did not call a foul live.
What a load of fucking horseshit.
The Soviet ref allowed them a modified do-overWait. I turned off when the buzzer beater heave missed. What happened?
They made up some BS it was a call on the floor, but clearly that was not the case. Nobody signaled it, and nobody blew the whistle.Refs successfully challenged their own non-call.
On a scale of 0 to Tim Donaghy? The Soviet ref allowed them a modified do-over
Almost a Doug Collins situation. Crisis averted.Wait. I turned off when the buzzer beater heave missed. What happened?
It was pretty bad. Not quite Donaghy bad, but suspect that the refs will get some feedback from league on that situation——they are lucky it wasn’t a nationally televised gameOn a scale of 0 to Tim Donaghy?
6. If it was a one or two point game at the time it would have been a full Donaghy. On a scale of 0 to Tim Donaghy?
I don't know any other possible explanation that covers what happened. 72 watched the play the entire time, did nothing, waited 3 full seconds until the ball was passed up court and released, then blew the whistle and pointed at White. Never seen anything like it.It was pretty bad. Yeah, even if the explanation is something like “wanted them to have a chance to run their play” it still doesnt’ work—-you eitehr call the foul or you don’tI don't know any other possible explanation that covers what happened. 72 watched the play the entire time, did nothing, waited 3 full seconds until the ball was passed up court and released, then blew the whistle and pointed at White. Is that a joke about 1972 or was his number 72?I don't know any other possible explanation that covers what happened. 72 watched the play the entire time, did nothing, waited 3 full seconds until the ball was passed up court and released, then blew the whistle and pointed at White. I don’t disagree with most of this. Just distressing to watch a quicksand situation in realtime and nobody’s throwing a lifeline. I also don’t really know if there’s any long-term value or learnings to be had from letting the bench suffer through a massive run in a random December game. You'd agree that the regular season this year doesn't really matter yes? The team should be focused on health, improving and teamwork. Maybe Joe sees the team fighting through adversity now and not calling a TO will be beneficial in the playoffs. I certainly think it will help long term
Ref‘s number.Wait is 72 the refs number? ‘72 Olympics? Tin-foil hat time?
He reffed it like soccer, except he let them play advantage and then called the foul anyway. Which, for many reasons, doesn’t work in the NBA.Yeah, even if the explanation is something like “wanted them to have a chance to run their play” it still doesnt’ work—-you eitehr call the foul or you don’t
DVRs save hearts.I forgot just how exciting/stressful these games are in person
Love these stories!DVRs save hearts.
My daughter, who was with me, while walking out said “That’s why you love this, that was awesome!” She’s just a casual fan no more. And I might be paying for a lot of number 9 stuff in the near future.
