That poor long-snapper for Michigan. That one was on him too — high snap killed the timing.

Turtling on 3rd and 17 to set up a long FG is such a college coach decision. I don’t care how good a college kicker is, anything over 40 yards in a pressure spot is a huge risk.

My son just described Texas football as “the Yankees without the success.” Will be rooting for UW in the late game.

Watching NFL Week in Week out where they have the best 32 kickers produced over the last 15 years gives a skewed perception of the game. At most levels of the game kicks are not a gimme.

The edge of field goal range is not a great spot for gadget plays.
I’ve never seen that happen before, though. Hell of a play by the Bama DT to get separation and make the RB panic. That’s a big play if he makes that pitch, assuming McCarthy didn’t miss the wide-open receiver.

Anything over 40 in college is dicy, not just the kickers, the snappers usually aren;t that good either

Those glasses make Harbaugh look like he’s about to ask for the manager at a West Palm Morton’s.

For sure. And most college coaches can’t handle the pressure and default to thinking their kickers can nail anything from 55 yards in. Which is insanity.

This game’s over. Michigan had a shot in the 2nd quarter when their D dominated but they couldn’t put points on the board.

Can’t give Saban a chance to beat you after halftime.

Fucking Auburn. This is disgusting.
If Bama loses to Auburn UGA is beating Michigan right now. I realize you wish we were watching Florida State lose by five touchdowns but the Committee was never going to let that happen.

UGA isn’t playing Michigan if UGA wins. They’d be 1-2

Oh, I'm still fine with Georgia over Bama given the choice between the two. They have another title or two until they catch up on the hatred rankings.

It's pretty amazing after the run of QBs Alabama had and their recruiting that this is the best guy they have? He's a garbage passer

Yup
Michigan would play Washington in your traditional rose bowl (2-3)
Georgia would be 1 and play Texas or FSU in sugar
Washington should've been 1 anyways in my opinion. They had a better resume other than the preseason ranking bias (again, my opinion).

I was assuming Bama lost to Auburn but still beat UGA. The Dawgs back in as the #4 seed in that scenario. And I do think they were the best team in the country this season.

Their own fans, at least the ones I know, had no notions of them contending for the CFP title this year because of Milroe.
Yeah, Saban was in the unusual position of talking up his team’s prospects last summer, because we all thought this was going to be a down year.

SEC teams also win because they usually dominate both sides of the line of scrimmage.

It’s really an unprecedented run of ridiculous offensive lines, which has made a lot of decent QBs look like world-beaters. Every Bama QB of the past 20 years besides Tua and Hurts has been overrated, and even Hurts had to transfer to Oklahoma to show what he could do.
