Yeah, I don't think they'll subtract in terms of straight trading guys for futures to re-stock. Even as bumpy as it has been recently, they are a lock for the playoffs and it's the centennial season, not a chance in hell they sell. The Jacobs would fire everyone if they tried to. They also don't have the futures or cap space to add, add, add without subtracting like last year.
What I do think is possible is a re-alignment. We've been through the goalie thing and why it's a pressure point. I don't think they just trade Ullmark now for futures and call it a day, but I do think they could trade Ullmark for futures to free up cap for a second move to bring in a skater. Basically re-allocating cap space from goalie to skater. Similar situation for DeBrusk. The tea leaves seem to indicate they aren't going to extend him, but maybe they can use him as a trade asset to bring in help at center. I think if the end result is something like Ullmark or DeBrusk out and Lindholm (or someone unknown player) in then it could be a net positive for this year and the future.
Kind of a lot to pull off in 26 hours but we'll see. They also could just add a depth F and depth D and call it a day.
